After practically an hour of hard work with my precious MS paint, I have finaly finished my first ever unit!
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba...
Bu ba bu ba ba...
Bu bu bumb...

The Dismount Cavalry!

This unit represents Cold War era troops that used horses to run around rough areas. Although they did do thier fighting on feet. I used SSB to make the attack, death and fortify and most excelent MSpaint to do default and run. It is a combo of Krysten's (?)horse and Kal-el's Grunt.

I am releasing this in the standard unit forum, cuz 2/5 of the anims are not "multi-figure." :D

Stupid Flc 2 Gif makes my unit look bad! :ack:

And another thing. The grunt magically jumps off his horse when attacking. :D

Good work. The horse looks a bit bored to the guy just shooting around though.

Edit: I just gave it a flicster test (tested animation: attack) and noticed a rather slow framerate and some pallete issues with civ colours...

I must say... I had a certain sense of relief when I opened this thread... I had anticipated something dumb. Glad to see I was wrong! :goodjob:

@Ukas
What do you want it to do? Sing and dance?
@Winter
I have no idea how to adjust palletes, I mean if I can't work with any other program besides paint, do you think I could adjust palletes without making my brain blow up? But the civcoloring worked for me in the flc...
@Dom Pedro
What do you mean "dumb" name one thing I've ever made that's dumb! :D

BTW: It's October first, my birthday! :banana::bday::banana:

U made this exclusively using MS paint :O wow (I 'didn't think this'd be even possible)
Uhm, the programe I can really recommend for pcx editing is PSP (Paintshop Pro) since it will usualy keep the palettes in order (get a trial version to look into int (if you don't get along with the programe that well I can give U a link to an older version which I use myself).

I'm assuming there are no dismount or mount animations? Haven't checked the unit yet. Good for a first try :) I still don't have a unit myself.

@Winter
Can you give me the older version? I already downloaded the later one, I hope it's better. :D

Thats odd. Why would you need a horse if it does nothing but stand there? does the infantry goes back on the horse when not attacking?

Because the guy rides on him! It's a cavalry!

Great work kulade! I didn't know it was possibly to do this with MS Paint and even less could I imagine that it could be done in _an hour_! Wow!

@Lonkut: That's actually one of the very first way horses were used on battlefields (after horseback riding was invented). Mounted infantry would just move from place to place on horseback and then dismount to fight. It was later that they made stirrups and better saddles that they could start fighting directly from horseback.

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend anyone using an assault rifle while on horseback. I suspect even the guy in this unit would scare his horse off with that kind of behaviour.

Perhaps this horse is a Buddhist or a Hindu and believes that if he get killed, he might come back as a angst-ridden college student more capable of changing the system...

How do you do something like that with just paint?

I made the attack, death and fortify with SSB. (Which is in Steph's sig)

To scrach the surface:

To edit in paint, export the storyboards edit them, and such, then convert them into proper pcx with some other complex program, I use I-mage. (I don't really know anything about it, but it converts right.) Then just make a new flc with flicster.
