View Full Version : WH40k Basilisk (8th October 2004)
muffins Oct 08, 2004, 04:24 AM The Basilisk is a self-propelled artillery unit used by the Imperial Guard in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
This unit includes Default, Fortify, Attack, Death and Fidget animations, sounds, pedia pics and a units32.
In the epic version of WH40k the Basilisk could fire twice a turn so I would recomend that you give this unit a move of 2 and Blitz (thus giving the unit two attacks a turn :D )
I'm sorry about the delay in creating this unit (I had promised to complete this unit months ago), but my PC blew up ... no kidding :p
Grab it below!

aaglo Oct 08, 2004, 04:41 AM Good job - wonderful animations
Mithadan Oct 08, 2004, 04:48 AM Sweet, I'd even use this in an epic mod for some pomo artillery.
Fixer07 Oct 08, 2004, 10:10 AM This is a great unit. I will use it in the epic game..
Hikaro Takayama Oct 08, 2004, 12:27 PM Superbly done unit Muffins. Sorry about your computer, though :(
I'm gonna use this bad boy for (a) the generic Mobile Artillery in my FF mod (2 movement, blitz, bombarment same as radar arty) and (b) as the Radar Artillery in my Tweaked Out mod.
BTW, you wouldn't happen to have the base Leman Russ tank model lying around, would you? Golflash PMed me requesting I do an Ork Looted version, but that would be kinda hard since I don't have the model (I could try modifying the Shadowsword model you released, but somehow I don't think that would quite work)
If you could email it to me, that'd be great, but there's no rush. That particular unit's pretty far down on my priority list. (my email is bonebrab@lha3.navy.mil )
Kinboat Oct 08, 2004, 03:23 PM Ooohh I love this one. Excellent job :D
I hope the fragments from the detenation didn't do too much damage...
CamJH Oct 08, 2004, 03:49 PM The Hydra and the Manticore are awesome, but THIS is my favorite! :D
Great job Muffins... on all of them! :goodjob:
(and it's great to have you back in the creation biz)
CivGeneral Oct 08, 2004, 08:25 PM I can certanly use this as a Modern Mobile Artillery
Manny Kant Oct 09, 2004, 01:02 AM It is exactly like playing 40K without the drain on the personal resources. Beautiful unit. Does the support gun in front fire, too?
muffins Oct 09, 2004, 03:43 AM Ooohh I love this one. Excellent job :D
I hope the fragments from the detenation didn't do too much damage...
It took out both CD-drives ... and I had to rescue everything on floppies ... 30 of them.
:crazyeye:
@Manny Kant - sorry mate, the front bolters don't fire :)
Vuldacon Oct 09, 2004, 09:32 AM WOW, What a Fantastic artillery unit! Love the design, animations, and 'realistic" esthetics. Very nice touch with the details muffins...Stunning unit...in a word, Excellent! ...and did I mention I like it?  :thanx:
Corn Shucker Oct 09, 2004, 05:58 PM This is a pretty good unit for a WH unit :D i might be able to use this one! thanks, good work
Goldflash Oct 10, 2004, 07:47 AM This is a pretty good unit for a WH unit :D i might be able to use this one! thanks, good work
What are you insinuating? Thaty the other 40K units are bad? HERETIC! Sieze him, in the Name of the Emperor!
Snorken Oct 10, 2004, 07:49 AM Looks very good! :)
So your PC blew up... did you have any fans at all? It gets pretty hot if you don't have any fans...
Kinboat Oct 10, 2004, 08:03 AM Fans... He's got lots of fans... But I'm not sure how we could've helped cool down his computer ;)
Backing up on floppy... Ouch thats harsh. At least you could save some stuff.
Snorken Oct 10, 2004, 08:38 AM I didn't mean that kind of fans... I meant the kind of fans that rotates :)
muffins Oct 10, 2004, 12:39 PM Fans? Fans? I've got lots of fans!
The problem was a faulty motherboard. Three great big capacitors on it went 'pop' and covered the insides of the PC with black crap.
It's amazing that the thing still worked long enough for me to back up my files ... someone must love me or something :D
Kinboat Oct 10, 2004, 09:20 PM Yeah I know... It was a feeble attempt at a joke
I've never actually had a computer pop on me... I've had my share of burn outs but never anything exploding.
Sobassis Oct 21, 2004, 10:49 PM YAY!!
WH40K Artillery now to bombard some one into tiyn little pieces.
Thank you
Emperor C Feb 08, 2005, 06:17 PM Great unit Muffins, all of them I've seen from you are pretty damn good. I did notice on this particular unit that there is no Run.flc. Was this done on purpose or was it an accident?
muffins Feb 08, 2005, 08:12 PM I had a PC break down on me and the CD-burner packed up so I could only salvage stuff small enough to fit on a floppy. The Run animation for this unit and several others I was working on was too big :(
The .ini uses the Default animation for the run and I think it works quite well
Bungus Feb 08, 2005, 10:17 PM how does this unit size up to the regular artillery? I looks good
