View Full Version : How can I stop walls from going away?

I don't want walls to go away when a city hits size 2. I have an ancient mod and ancient cities of all sizes had walls.

Ideally I want the walls to show up on the map if you build them, but not go away when you hit size 2. Is there any way to do this?

I'm not sure what you want- do you want the walls to continue to function, or just to appear around the city graphics? If you just want the graphics, you can use the walled cities for all 3 sizes, but then all cities will have walls on the map, even if the improvement is not present. If you want them to continue to work, I don't think that's possible, but I may be wrong. Hope this helps :)

I think that if you want them to continue to work, you should change the defensive bonus they provide. If you look in the editor you will see that there is no option for "ceases to function at city size 2". So I think that because walls provide the same defensive bonus as a city size 2, the game automatically removes them when a city has that bonus anyway. Look at the Civil Defence - that works irrespective of city size. But the only difference between that and Walls is the amount of bonus provided. So try increasing the bonus offered by Walls and see if that makes them stay at higher city sizes.
