Hi, this is v.1.1 of my southern Greeece map. Although v.1.0 was for ptw, this is for conquests.

changes since the first version:

really too many to mention, the map is overall a lot better, i added almost 20 more rivers, and the coastlines are virtually perfect.

Doesnt anyone feel like saying anything? If this keeps up for long i might begin to hear some strange sound from under the floor.

The shapes of the peninsula look wonderful and realistic (but so they did in the older version). I'm not an expert on Greec geography though ;)

About the addition of rivers - while it might be realistic, I think that it might make the map a bit imbalanced - in favor of the human player. Because the rivers create huge amount of commerce, and I think that the AI can't handle the luxury&research sliders very well (if at all).

But I admit it's fun playing on a world full of rivers :)

I think its a great map not only of its great representation of southern greece but also just because of the shape of the world. I'll make the mountains impassable and create a fictive island on the south-west and will definitely have a great game. I'm also thinking about using it for a WH-mod game. Great work!!!

Ty (not for the freak part :lol: oh well i guess i am a bit freakish with details) :) You can always take the west ocean part off by using maptweak, i just didnt have that program at the time. This map is 160*160, so not utterly huge. I have also made a map of something less than half of Greece, again the southern part (however considerably more of it than in the other map), which i shall be releasing in the near future, but not as a new version of this map, since they are different enough. here is a preview ;) (the map in the pic is 150*196)

Yeah!, this one is even better. And 160x160 is the best map size in my opinion. Larger than that it just never ends, and the AI performance starts decreasing.

well 150*196 (the new map in the previous pic) is less than 15% bigger than 160*160, so nothing dramatic.

Well, thats border line but I'll take it ;)
