What makes the "great" leaders so great? It seems that the common trait is the ability to create a powerful military and making conquests with it. But what great it is with military? Tsenghis Khan and other Mongol Khans conquered Asia and a lot of other places killing millions as he went around. So killing and destruction makes a man great? Same is with Alexander, Hitler and most of the leaders. War seems to be the only merit of greatness.
In my opinion different scale, other than war, should be used. Shouldn't the greatness be merited by the happiness of the average citizen of the country? You and me and most of the people are 'just' average citizen without considerable political or any other power. But which we lack in power we make in numbers.
Would you consider your leader great, if he started a war for his own personal glory? If you were drafted to army so that his name would be remembered after few hundred years as *** the great?

Well u might not know this,When German conquered France in WW2 ,it was a pride for the Germans.Mans do a lot of things for their pride, winning a war is a pride, well if u are a mongol wouldnt u think ur country is great for once having the largest empire in the history.Hitler suicide is out of pride.Well count how many things u do in your life just for pride.
Great leader in my opinion are the leaders who could build up the nation regardless of crappy situations in the country to turn into superpower of the world and prosper the nation .

"Great" Leaders that are Great because of a war are considered great because they win the respect of a nation and lead it to victory, and many people envy them because of this. Many of this is based on National Pride, or so I think.
