We have a lot of wonders which could shortly be available. Are you going to investigate commencing prebuilds so that we can obtain the wonders as soon as possible?

Deputy Ashburnham,
I believe in a higher power, but I am personally opposed to all religions, as such, I wish for you to keep the title of Pope.

As far as duties of the office of deputy, It would be a great help to me if you would continue to provide your wonderful reports. I will prepare analysis of the various border regions and make recommendations to the people and to the governors. I will also look into the building of wonders at this time.

Thanks - MOTH

Minister MOTH,

Unfortunately, I will be absent from the Demogame for a while, as it appears I have appendicitis. I'm off to the hospital and won't be back for at least a week. Take care.

Deputy Ashburnham

This turn chat saw a turn of the tide in the Regent Town vs Elippi border culture war with Elippi taking the lead. This was suprising in that Regent Town is at maximum culture production until some of the existing improvements double in production.

MOTH
Nov 10, 2004, 01:00 PM
No unexpected changes in borders were seen this turn chat. Several former Iroquois cities have new culture and expansion.

Regent Town and Elippi both expanded past the 1000 culture point both on the turn 3/4 IBT. Elippi cannot be leading by much and it is hoped that Heroic Epic (to be completed in about 10 turns) will help turn the tide back in favor of Regent Town.

I have been requested to analyze expected science progression. As part of my analysis I would love to know your position on construction of TOE. Do you hope to do a pre-build? How many turns do you expect it will take after we discover Scientific Method?

Crimso

...and do you have any plans for *the Dam*?

MOTH

@civman2004,
My thoughts on ToE under a limited wonders policy is that it should be built to fight culture wars in a border area. As such, I expect to start a pre-build as soon as we have factories in the applicable cities.

@crimso,
Under the limited wonders policy I believe that Hoover's should be built for the major benefit it provides.

Minister MOTH,

As Culture Minister, and the one who would stand to gain the most from investigations of Culture Threats, I wish for you to participate in the discussion in this thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=104831), in preparation for the Emergency Turnchat Tuesday Evening.

Here is the data the Culture Ministery requested:

Indusrtialization (3 Turns untill completion)
Medicine (Research will take 7 turns)
Sanitation (Research will take 7 turns)
Electricity (Research will take 10 turns)
Scientific Method (Research will take 7 turns) (TOE!!)
Replaceable Parts (research will take 10 turns)

Number of turns untill we can build the Theory of Evolution: 34
Number of turns untill the tech queue ends: 44

Ashburnham
Nov 13, 2004, 10:46 PM
That's excellent news, Strider. I suggest we pick a site for ToE immediately and set up a pre-build that will finish sometime around 34 turns. We could feasibly have the Theory of Evolution the very turn we discover Scientific Method.

31 Turns, Ash. Palace is currently being occupied by Osgiliath, and US won't be available until then.

Well, There's Shorin Ryu... Though with the "Iron Diversion" railline, Zojoji could compete...

I thought we had decided not to build Universal Suffrage (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=104320), in which case we can simply use Osgiliath to build ToE instead. Problem solved. :)

Minister Moth, now that it appears war is imminent, would it be possible to have your Ministry approve the building of the Universal Sufferage Wonder?

This wonder would not be built for the Hawks that want war, but for the women who stay home and do the jobs of the men who get to have all the fun killing and maming their fellow human beings. :) Let's give this equal rights movement a shot in the arm, so to speak.

If Zojoji switched from an Ironclad, the US could be done in less than 20 turns. :D

Yes, more wonders in Zarnia :). It was surprising last time that anyone was even against granting suffrage to everyone in our great nation. Are we really that backwards?!

Minister MOTH

I believe we may soon be at War with the Zulu, despite our efforts to avoid it. This may however give rise to a Great Leader who could potentially be used to rush a Wonder, possibly even this Universal Sufferage we have had so much discussion about. There is little time however before the next chat to discuss this.

Provolution

I consider Forbidden Palace priority one per last poll on Great Leaders.
However, womens voting rights are not that urgent, of course with the exception of the Ladies of the House, Furiey and Chieftess.

MOTH
Nov 29, 2004, 08:00 AM
The Forbidden Palace finally nears completion (again). The building of Universal Suffrage cannot be done without an override of previous votes (which can't be done in 3 days). The pre-build for Scientific Method is coming along nicely.

I would say that if we get a great leader from the potential war with the Zulu's that we should hold onto it and poll on its use. My personal preference would be to rush Shakespeare's Theatre in a location where it would help push a culture war.

In either case, I will leave it up to Term V Culture Ministry to help determine this.

Cyc

I agree that holding on to a GL, as opposed to spending it the Forbidden Palace, is a good idea. I'm thinking that Hoover Dam may be the best use for it.

Gentlemen, Mayor Cyc and Minister Moth

You made me think... Our biggest cultural rival is France, and I would probably vouch for a wonder on the French border, to secure the Mustard Hills, and potential strategic resources in the region. Culturally, we are crushing Babylonians, Iroqi and Zulus, Rome is gone, so I would call for a wonder on the French border, where we normally cannot build due to corruption levels.

Ashburnham
Nov 29, 2004, 11:28 AM
Not a bad idea, Provo. Of course, it hinges on us getting a Great Leader, thereby necessitating a war that we don't actually have to fight. But, that's an argument for another thread..
