I would like to announce the beginning of creation of a new scenario: WWII in the Western Mediterranean. It doesn't sound flashy, but it focuses on American involvement in North Africa and Italy. I would appreciate any help, especially some Italian WWII units and leaderheads. I especially need a leaderhead for Vichy France. I would hope to have a static portrait leaderhead of Marshal Petain, the leader of Vichy France. Here is a link to the map I will use.http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=67812/westmedi.jpg. Yet again, any help will be appreciated, and I would like SithasLLJK to tell me if it's okay to use his old map.

It's probably OK to use his map, just mention that it's his is enough :)

What kinds of Italian units would you need?
WINTER made a very good italian infantry guy, which might be usefull :)

Basically any Italian units are fine, but planes like the MC202 would be better.

BTW, I just found the Italian Infantry unit you were talking about. Really good sound work.

check www.cdgroup.org There are a whole butt ton of Itiallian Planes and Tanks opver there by Wyrmshadow and Ripttide. You have to create an account to view and download the things, though. But it is free and fast

I just signed up on that website, but I haven't gotten the account activation e-mail yet, so I'm waiting, thanks for telling me about it. About the Marshal Petain leaderhead, a static leaderhead is fine, if anyone can convert a photo of Marshal Henri Philippe Petain into the right format. Threads have been done before asking for his leaderhead, but they were not replied to. Here's a picture of Petain.

I also need a President Roosevelt leaderhead. I don't think this is hard to find, but I haven't found it yet. I would like to note that this is my second try at a scenario. My first, set in Renaissance Italy, never got done because I hadn't found this site and was therefore modding by the seat of my pants.

There were Petain portraits here, taken off to make load time of this thread a bit faster.

Sorry about the several posts in a row, but these are updates:
I have all leaderheads except for Marshal Petain. I will not settle for de Gaulle, for he was leader of allied France.
I still have no Italian planes, though this should be covered as soon as I am able to register on the aforementioned site.

I now have all the units I need, thanks.
My only real concern is the Marshal Petain leaderhead. Anything will suffice, people! It doesn't have to be 3d or animated, just a picture of Marshal Petain that's the right size!

Wow, thanks recon1591. There is really a lot of demand for this leaderhead, so after it's done one of us should probably give it its own thread in the graphics modpacks.

Thanks, I got the leaderhead. It's great that you gave it three versions, because now I can have him age as time goes on, going from his WWI portrait to the color picture of him as an old man. I guess the rest of this scenario is up to me, I have all the cities and many units laid out. One last question before I really hardly work on it: Can you start the game with land units in transports on water? I tried, but the land units just won't go. I have a feeling I can't.

You cannot preplace land units in sea transports unfortunatly.
Nor can you preplace units in armies or air transports.

Dang. The weird thing is I can put planes wherever I like! I can put a plane on any square on the map except for enemy facilities. That's annoying. Now I guess I'll have to be historically inaccurate and give the US 1 or 2 Spanish cities.

Okay recon, about the CDG thing, my scenario isn't all that tactical, but I'll do it if you think I should. My scenario tries to include the West Mediterranean all the way through the Italian Campaign, though it starts with Operation Torch. If this is too strategic, I may make a specifically Operation Torch scenario after this is done. That way, I could even have a special letter carrier unit in the next scenario and a regicide gameplay element so you try to get a special message to Admiral Darlan. After all, this secret letter is what made the Vichy French stop fighting in North Africa.

I was just a idea for and i'm glad u excepted partner. the ideas u have sound good and worth a shot i think. If it doesn't work that way then u could break it down.

Do y'all think I should have Nazi Germany as playable? They don't start off with any cities, just paratroopers next to Tunis. On November 9th, the day after the "Torch" landings, the Germans dropped paratroopers next to Tunis and took peaceful control of Tunisia before the allies could get there. In this way, the German situation is alike the American one at the start, where they have to obtain a quick beachhead.
