SGOTM Awards Discussion.

It is my intention that from SGOTM6 onwards that a C3C version of the game will be offered. To save effort on my part I will use the same map as for SGOTM PTW and 1.29f with ainwoods COTM game rules.

I also intend to scrap the Green Laurel since it is now apparent that there will not be enough "takers" for a non-variant game to make it worthwhile.

Since C3C is not comparable to previous versions of the software, the C3C teams will need a new award. This could be a little bit tricky. Currently we have the gold laurel for SGOTM which is awarded for fastest variant finish.
The C3C version can't really be silver can it as it implies second best (to gold)?
So what should we do?

Any ideas are welcome.

How about using laurel crowns for SCOTM (as opposed to the laurel wreaths currently used for SGOTM) :)

You could call it the Sterling Laurel, or perhaps switch to medallions - the Gold Medallion?

You could be like the credit card companies. They came out with Gold Cards and, when they needed something new and percieved as better, they called them Platinum cards. SGOTM prize is the Gold Laurel while the SCOTM is the Platinum Laurel, or some other precious metal similar to gold. (How about titanium?) :mischief:

EDIT - spelling and clarification.

Or, perhaps use weapons metal, like steel or aluminum (steel sounds much better).

Taking it a step further, in the Ancient Age, the most precious metal is Iron. Later, in the Modern Age, it is Aluminium. Since Vanilla and PTW came first, we have the Iron Laurel and for SCOTM, the Aluminium Laurel.
