I extracted it into the right place and when i start a new game i just get the same old terrain, so could somebody help me?

Where did you extract it to? Is this the scenario version or the basic version?

You may have to choose "Load scenario" (or "Civ Content" for C3C) and choose Sn00py's terrain.
