:cry: This is my situation..Vanilla CIV crashes to desktop when I try to initialize a game. Conquests does the same. PTW putters along then finally stops.I HAVE updated video & audio drivers, all patches in place, uninstalled & reinstalled. The editors work just fine( except you can't open the help in Conq which my be indicative of something). At first I thought it was mods giving it a bellyache, but basic no frills games do this too.
I have...AMD3400, Radeon 9800, 512M.

edit>OK, after further experimentation I discovered that the original rightouttathebox ver 1.07 runs just fine. When I patch it to 1.29 my troubles begin. Are earlier patches available anywhere out there?
And too, when loaded on a different computer patches and all, they run just fine; of course. :sad:
