Sorry for the long delay. I've finally got around to working on the next phrase of my Chinese city graphics. :) This is the preview for the Ming and Qing Dynasties graphics. The final version will include a Ming-style city gate and city walls. I'm also fiddling with Photoshop 7 to make a "Temple of Heaven" graphic, but it doesn't seem like it's getting anywhere...

By the way, those two little dark spots in front of the palace are (or were :p ) supposed to be the lion statues that guard the Forbidden City. That didn't come out too well. :crazyeye:

Although it uses only the generic buildings, the colours make it stand out, and so does the lay-out ;)

You could take alittle from Redalert's playbook, and add some of the Civ3 Asian buildings, and blend them all toghether via recoloring. That would improve it certainly. I will diffenitely make use of these....

Which of these two pics is the better one? These are the graphics for the Size2 city, but I can't decide which one to implement.

Make two versions:p

Otherwise make the last one, as it is more in the "spirit" of normal cities.

I'd say the second for a Size 2; the first, although wonderful, is a bit overpowering.

Looks great!
I would use the first one for walled cites, the other for regular cities only.

most chinese major cities were walled, so i say the second...
the best way is to make two versions though, to satisfy everyone

But you can't make walled cities bigger than size 6, so separate ones may need to be made.

no, but the graphics can still be used, just to look good

I prefer the first one...I agree that the walls, even though they won't have any effect on a size2 city, make the difference. Very impressive!
