Is there a scenario with the samurai. At about 1870. The fall of the samurai. If any of you have seen "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise. I would like a scenario or mod that had somethiing like that.

I haven't heard of such a scenario, but you must ask such questions in the main "Creation and Customisation" forum. This forum is only for posting completed scenarios. The thread will get moved by a moderator.

I thought about doing one, but it seemed hard to give the Samurai any chance of victory at all....But then again, Spearmen can beat a tank in CIV III....

Well, if you believe the epic game, samurai vs riflemen is 4.4.2 vs 4.6.1 - not a huge gap.

Still, I too have problem seeing how it could be implemented sensibly.

Well, you could take a different route and let the Samurai units enslave to a sacrificable unit named "Honor". That is, although the Samurai have no chance of military victory, if they manage to squeeze out enough victories or last long enough, they can get a cultural victory (even if it would still amount to a historical loss...the idea would be to measure whether the player won with what s/he was given, right?)

The idea has probably already been used on yon boards. I bet somewhere, someone has already implemented it in the epic game.

Smauri vs rifleman is an awesome battle... because samauri can retreat, and can be deadly against wounded riflemen, if the battle goes well, the riflemen can either attack the samauri at a 4 to 4*terrian bonus disadvantage,

Very fun.
