Well, a lot of people have been saying that Sid Meier is unlikely to produce CIV.
Well, I did more exploring on the new Firaxis site, and I found that Jesse Smith is going to produce Civilization IV. Jesse was the producer of C3C as well. Here (http://www.firaxis.com/company/bios.php?bioid=51) is where I found it.


Yesterday, this information was not on the page, so I guess they just put it up there recently.

That's quite a sentence. :p

His title at Firaxis is the Creative Director. That basically means he is the overall brain in control of things. While Soren does the nitty-gritty things, it would mean that Sid has a veto on things if he didn't like them, or could get something in that he wanted.

He was also the Lead Designer for Pirates. Even though he's involved with Civ IV, he's probably spending most of his time on Firaxis' "next big project."

i'm not experienced in game designing as you probably are so i was wondering if all these spots are being taken up by other people than what would Sid Meiers be doing in the Civ IV. sorry if it sounded a little rude. :)

as for the sentence editing i mispelled Meiers wrong so i thought i would get flamed from people here who worship Sid Meiers. i didn't want to get burned alive ;) :lol:

This is totally right. What I know about Jesse from times I've talked to him, he's a very dedicated person. :)
He just loves to get things done.
