Here's my question:
In Civ3 and Civ3 PTW (don't have conquerers) the years FLY BY! I'm already into the ADs and I don't have iron working yet! Is there any patch or fix that I can download that slows down the game years to be more realistic? If there is, would someone post the link?

No, there is no patch that will slow it down, sorry.
What level are you playing? Sometimes on the lower levels, since the AI don't research as quick as you, it takes long to get techs, and when you do, you can't trade them for anything, because the AIs don't have anything.
In the editor (for PTW), or in the game setup screen (the player selection screen), click the "Game Settings" button (or something with similar wording). You will see an option that says "Game Turns". You can set this anywhere from 0 - 1000. So, in short: You *can* add more turns to the game, and you can change your levels to get techs quicker. You will just end up getting more techs per year, unless there are many wars.

What is your science rate set to and how many turns does it say it's going to take to advance?

Has nothing to do with all that. My genuine concern is that I'd like less years to pass per turn, especially in the ancient, formative years. It's more realistic. There's no patch to adjust this?

It actually has a great deal to do with the level you are playing, and the science rate you have set, and the amount of tech trading you do.
I have known Deity-level players, who do brisk trading, to win via Spaceship victory before 1400AD.
