First off, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year. Secondly, this a news update, we do not currently have a Hall of Fame update itself! I just wanted to brief everyone on a few things:

Rules Changes:
As some of you are already aware, Wonder Victory is now within the rules. It is an optional condition, but not a victory type that will be recognized within the Hall. Also, we have fixed the server so that the two-game per player limit applies to all tables, score and fastest finish alike.

Submission Process Changes:
I won't go into details yet, nor speculate on an exact date, but the submission process is going to change soon. I think everyone will like it. The one thing I will mention for now though is that uploaded games will require the final .sav to be the turn after. This will be a change from the current final turn being before or after.

Hall of Fame Updates:
We're currently overhauling the entire database to simplify things on the staff-side. Once we have the next update (before the end of January), we'll have biweekly updates then on out.

Very effective, Slug master!

I want to get this straight - If I conquer the last city, say, at 3000BC, then I should submit the sav file of 2950BC, after I click on "continue" although I already won?

I used to think that in such a case the 3000BC end of turn would be enough (just end the turn)..

That's exactly right boogaboo. If you're interested, the reason for this is that the new submission system will be a lot more automated and will extract the score (+ lots of other data) from the final submitted .sav file. If you submit the 3000BC file then the score in the .sav file won't include the win bonus.

Okk, Dianthus!

Automation is one of the main uses of computers... but we people are usually too tired to write the automation code... :mischief:

I still have a zip of 2 games.. one of them I would like to submit when I do my real high... will I still be able to submit it? (I can do this today, and do my real high at a later date).
The last save is still the end-of-turn of 1200BC, and I wouldn't want to load it just to make a 1175BC save.. where does that stand?
Should I submit it today?

Go ahead and submit. superslug is just trying to prepare you all for the change when the new submission system comes on line.

The really beautiful thing about the new submission process Dianthus is creating is that everything will be server based. Once we complete the overhaul, so long as one HoF staff member has internet access anywhere, the HoF can be updated.

I may have got the place back up and running by taking the job, but it's Dianthus who's making sure the Hall will stay running!

I lower my head in honor of your efforts, and submitted my 1175BC win.
Still hope it will soon become second.. :mischief:
