Hello!
I have read much about the ini-files. But where I can find them on the hard drive? Or do I have to create them?

They come with the game when you install them. If you have Vanilla Civ (no expansions), it will be located in C:/Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/, and named Civilization3.ini. If you have Play the World (first expansion), it's located in the PTW folder (.../Civilization III/Civ3PTW/) and named ptw.ini. If you have Conquests (second expansion), it will be in the Conquests folder (.../Civilization III/Conquests), and is named Conquests.ini.
*Note: These are all according to a default install. Also, Infogrames Interactive may be replaced with "Atari".

Hi -- I have Civ Complete. I found the .ini file in conquests but can't find one in ptw. I did a search on *.ini and aside from the individual ones for each unit, I haven't been able to find anything other than the one for conquest. Any suggestions?

You actually need to start a game before the .ini file will show up.
So if you installed Civ3, then C3C, and never started a Civ3 game, you won't find a civlization3.ini file.
You can, however, create one, and the game will just append to that.

Thanks -- my problem is I can't start the game. Ah well, I should have read this site before buying it. I didn't realize there were so many problems with this game. Too bad, because it really is a good one -- when it runs properly.
