Noticed something near Rio and finally realised it was the Treasure Fleet.

Went back to a previous save to set this up.
Hope you enjoy it, I certainly did.

Unzip the save into your Pirates! Game save directory.

The save starts just east of Trinidad. The Treasure Fleet will appear tomorrow morning at the sound of the (monthly) bell.

Below are a few experiments that you may find interesting.

Experiment #1.

As most of us have never really seen the Treasure Fleet, the first experiment is rather simple, but revealing.

Follow the fleet.
You have more than enough food to follow the fleet until they exit for Europe.
If you crew gets "blinking" angry, touch any town/settlement and some of them will leave.
Keep following the fleet.

You may see at least one of them get racked by a Named-Pirate.

When they get past Havana, save on a different game save position. This may be usefull in the next experiment.

What did you observe about their movements? What happens at port? Where do they leave the map? Do they move together? Do they ever have escorts?

Experiment #2.

Most people will find this slightly harder.

Sack one of the arriving Treasure Ships.

What did you get?

Go back to the game save after Havana.

Sack one of those Treasure Ships.

What did you get? (including cargo)


Is it a worthwile tactic to wait until they leave Havana to plan to maul the entire Treasure Fleet, or Sack them Now!!! Sack them Now!!! ?

Experiment #3.

Think of this one more as a fun scenario.

Can you bag all of the Treasure Ships before any of them fall prey to Pirates?
