View Full Version : Scenario recommendations?
sisocrack Jan 15, 2005, 01:20 PM Hi, I would like to download some cool scenarios with no bugs and with no problems of charging and all this stuff. I don't have C3 Conquests yet, so I would apreciate that the scenarios were playable at PTW.
Could you please recommend me 3 or 4 scenarios that work perfectly and its link to download them?
Thank you very much!
LouLong Jan 15, 2005, 02:06 PM Welcome to CFC
Well, there is a Conquests scenario directory with reviews but :
- scenarios are mentioned only if the creators post about them
- reviews are scarce
- only people who liked a scenario post about it so it might not be the most neutral info.
Provided you have Conquests and don't mind a little downloading I think your best bet is Rood and Dragon, the Anglo-Saxon scenario by Plotinus.
American Civil War by Misfit Travel starts fast as well and is bug-free. But even if it really good, it only covers one conflict.
I quite like WWI by Sarevok/Rocoteh but here we start reaching large loading times.
Now it depends as well on your favorite periods and what type you like to play.
And BTW this thread/subforum is only for completed scenarios, not for questions. Questions are to be asked one level up in the main C&C forum.
I will ask a mod to move it so don't be surprised if it is...
sisocrack Jan 15, 2005, 02:28 PM Thanks for your welcoming Loulong! You can move the thread if you want, but actually my post is not a question, it's a request. Have you got a request forum? xD Just kiding...
Just to say I don't have Civ 3 Conquests yet. I'm downloading it but currently I just got PTW... so the scenarios should be PTW compatible.
Thanks a lot!
IXIRandyIXI Jan 15, 2005, 02:42 PM The "WWII Europe: Small, Fast & Beautiful" scenario is also excellent. A little easy playing as the Germans, but playing as the British has been very fun. :D
For modpacks (with pre-set maps), I'd also recommend the "Warhammer" mod. Look in the maps forum section for maps for that modpack.
"Age of Imperialism", "Merchant of Venice", "Rood and the Dragon", and "The Rise of Wei" are also very good scenarios that require little load time on my machine.

I think that you need civ3 Conquests to play "WWII Europe: small...", am I right? I don't have Conquests yet...
I'm not interested in modpacks, just scenarios but thanks anyway.
I'll have a look at the 4 scenarios you tell me to see if I can play them... thanks Randy ;-)
MORE SCENARIOS PLAYABLE WITH PTW!!! :goodjob:
Plotinus Jan 16, 2005, 04:23 AM "Defeat into Victory" might be worth checking out as a PTW scenario. I have it but simply haven't got around to playing it yet, but it looks really detailed and well thought out.
The problem is that no-one makes scenarios for PTW any more, because C3C is so much better for making them! It still doesn't offer the possibilities you had with Civ2 scenarios, but there are a lot more than there were for PTW. This is one of the main differences with C3C - hence the name "Conquests", since those *are* scenarios.
IXIRandyIXI Jan 16, 2005, 08:26 AM Oh sorry, I missed that part about no C3C. :D I hope you enjoy the other scenarios I recommended.
And as for the modpacks, well, with the pre-set maps that they have on these forums for it, the "Warhammer" mod is a lot like the "Rood and the Dragon" scenario -- that you start on a pre-set map with pre-set resources and have pre-set starting locations. There's even a Warhammer map out there that starts everyone out with 5+ cities to speed things up. :)
Paasky Jan 20, 2005, 02:06 AM Just to say I don't have Civ 3 Conquests yet. I'm downloading it but currently I just got PTW...
Downloading it? Hmm...?
augurey Jan 20, 2005, 03:35 AM Paasky's WWII scenario is amazing. The Unique Units in it make it as enjoyable as Rocotech's latest Global WW2 scenaro.
Also, there are legal downloads of C3C. I remember Kazaa had one a while back....
Paasky Jan 20, 2005, 06:37 AM Legal Conquest download on the net? Suuuuuuure... Something like CivilizationIII.Conquests.r4z0r.LEGAL!!!!!111.iso or something?
;)

Damn its nice to have someone likeing what I've done :D
cassa61 Jan 20, 2005, 08:24 AM Probably something more akin to this Paasky

Paasky Jan 20, 2005, 08:53 AM Oh, that's possible? Possibly only in the US...
Another recommendation is the Barbarossa sceanario... although its only for conquests.
Xerxesthewalrus Feb 21, 2005, 10:45 AM The thing is... I don't have c3c or ptw. I'm VANILLA MAC!
