Any way to slow down time in the game? Because you are quickly out if the BCs and into the 1400ads, it just goes by to quick. Also any way to get the tech to not really show up till the time they had it in real life? Like the Bronze age came ??not sure but have it last to when ever they had the iron age. To make it more like life and nations can't dicsover something till its the time period that it got discover in real life.

In the editor, under Scenario Properties, you can adjust how many years each turn accumulates - and that's broken down into increments. That's why the Ancient Age spans so many years, and the Modern Age so few. The only drawback to this is if you make the turns too little time, by the time you get to the Modern Age, the game may no longer keep score (there's a turn limit) - though you can keep playing.

If you adjust the turn increments - you can achieve this - however there is one problem: The AI tends to follow in the Human's footsteps. If you "tech" it, so will they - thus you reach the next age quicker than you should. IF you warmonger, so will they - thus the research is slower. Also, the more Civs in the game, the quicker the tech pace (they will always try to trade first).

Like I mentioned above - you warmonger, so will they. However, Civs with Aggression 5 tend to be more treacherous/demanding & will declare war at will. You can adjust that setting under "edit rules\civilizations"

What version are you playing? If you have Conquests, you can select the aggression level of the civs when you start the game.
Another way, and probably the easiest, to slow down the tech advance is to go to the World Sizes screen and increase the Tech Rate for the various maps. This acts like a multiplier for the initial tech cost, so raising the number will make them take longer to research.
