Just wondering if anyone had a rough idea of how many gigabytes of Civ3 material, i.e. units, mods, terrain, leaderheads, etc. has been put out since the release of civ3? I just noticed that my unit downloads alone are no longer going to fit on one CD. :( Oh well, too much is better than too little. :D

My CivIII folder had passed 2 gigabyte when my HD died a couple of weeks ago. Of course, I've only ever DL'd a small selection of all that's been released.

I just checked mine. 3.25Gb, 16867 files, 1218 folders. Leaderheads seem to take quite a lot of space. Too bad about the 32 tribe limit though. :(

Mine is 5400 MB. More than 13000 files and 1000 folders

This a poll similar to what you're asking... (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=109191)

But all the content on CFC? Hundreds upon hundreds, if more than a thousand MBs... The top 5 mods in the Completed Modpacks forum by Posts would probably equal around 600 or more megabytes alone.

Way bigger than anyone's harddrive.

Ginger_Ale. I dont believe anything on this server equates to "600 or more gigabytes". Haha, you crazy beverage.

Well I've taken a peek at the upload servers and done some maths...

I only looked at uploads 7 and 8 (as the previous ones seem to have disappeared? Maybe they have been all compacted onto two folders?), but on those two upload folders there is a total of:

4.85 gigabytes

Of course, this doesn't include attachments, or files over 3 MB, and does include stuff which isn't Civ 3 related. Although, most files which are over 3MB are just a combination of files under 3MB combined into a mod, so are probably counted anyway.

EDIT: Oh, and uploads 8 is a bit bigger than uploads 7 (by about 1 gig so far...)

Maybe we should ask TF?

Sorry, but this is nonsence.... That'd put each mod at average 125 gigs. Most hardrives aren't that big, and even with a great connection that'd take a long time to download (142.2 hours on a 2Mbps connection (very fast broadband))
Way bigger than anyone's harddrive. I think you can get hardrives that big nowadays....

I try to keep my size pretty small, but I know one person who has 80 gigs of Civ stuff

Yeah.

Personally, I think he's insane, but at least he has a lot of room on his computer ;)
