After the Victory Party

After the parties and celeberations were over, and the solidarity of the Quad-Alliance (Japanatica, France, Aztecs, and America) was solidified with a continental war against Babylon and Iroquois, who had attacked France. However, tension was brewing within the alliance. France, being good-natured, had signed some MPPs, and wound up at war with the Aztecs. They had an MPP with Russia, also at war with the Aztecs. France even wanted Japanatica to betray the Aztecs, but Japanatica declined. The leaders of Japanatica saw this as troubling. Then, in 1758AD, the unthinkable happened. The Quad-Alliance, which held the world together throughout the industrial era, collapsed.

America had attacked Odessa! This fringe town had not yet acquired barracks and harbors, so it had 2 infantry, and 2 cavalary. These units bravely fought until the last man died. Some 10 or so American cavalry perished trying to take Odessa, and finally succeeded. Then, the foreign advisor came with even more terrible news! "Sire! The Americans have signed an alliance with the French against the Aztecs! The alliance is in chaos! :)". "What are you smiling about!", the president said. "Oh, I mean, :eek:", replied the Foreign Advisor. France had drawn America into the war. Airports were ordered rushed in the remaining towns. Fortunately, the era of Modern Armor is upon Japanatica, however, a trade needs to be made to acquire Rocketry.

Aerial flights have revealed that Odessa, the Japanatican stronghold, was burned to the ground!!!. Japanatican citizens were outraged at the news. They've been through a war before, but now, this was for real. WWII had begun!

World War II: 1759AD-1786AD

Japanatica signed an unlikely alliance with an old foe. Russia, as well as signing an alliance with China, both against the Americans. As a show of solidarity, the Japanaticans signed an alliance with the Aztecs against the Americans. Bombers that were now based in Corrino where sent to Bangalore to help harrass the American troops entering the national borders in the area. One professor noted - "Unless Japanatica parts from its' isolationist ways, this may very well be the beginnings of a Chinese-Japanatican Cold War". The Japanatican Navy by Civantoria is sent straight for the America's west coast.

In 1762AD, it was almost as if France came to their senses and attacked the Americans, and made peace with the Aztecs! 40,000 troops (40 tanks) would soon be making their way to America. By the time they reach, American troops will be so entangled fighting against Russia and China that the Invasion of Normady--err, Phildalelphia should go smoothly. China captured Miami the next turn.

The following turn, the Aztecs and Russia signed a peace treaty. The world is starting to turn against part of the former quad-alliance. In 1764, a secret project was undertaken in Zojoji. The Manhatten Project. 8,000 troops (8 tanks) were also lifted to Bangalore. In 1768, and American invasion force (battleship and transport) were sunk. The American Navy is dwindling. The Normandy-style landing also took place this turn next to the city of Philladelphia.

Normandy started off very well, with a few loses, but of course, the enevitable was bound to happen. A spearman defeated a tank! :eek: Philladelphia and Buffalo were switftly taken, while the Japanatican Airforce set up base in Philladelphia. Next targets are Washington and Boston.

The next turn, unfortunately, the great city of Boston was razed to the ground by the Chinese! Houston and Seattle also fell victim to the Chinese.

In 1776 (somewhat ironic), the Manhatten Project was completed in Zojoji! By 1784AD, the war starts to wind down. Of the core American cities (Japanatica captured Washington, Philladelphia, and Buffalo), only San Francisco was spared. Miami remains the only city left. China and the French went on a scorched earth policy, leaving no city standing. This, however, led to a settler bonanza for Japanatica. The "PEP" (Passive Expansion Program from DG1 fame) was reimplemented, and many Japanatican cities sprung up in former America. In 1785 AD, the Great War, WWII, was over! Celebrations were held all over Japanatica! The New Odessa founding cerimony was held that year, in memory of the many Japanatican citizens who lost their lives in that war. There are bound to be Japanatican slaves somewhere in this world.

A devout Shinto Japanese General drew his katana, and stuck it in the sand, saying, "Our ancestors fought valiantly to the death, and in death, they were even more powerful, spreading their vengence throughout this land. Perhaps some were also with the Chinese forces who purged the Americans from these lands. May flowers bloom from the tears that have fallen upon this desert!".

This signaled the official end of WWII for the Japanaticans.

Additionally, a temporary culture city was built next to the Russian border of Minsk (an old, level 4 culture city) to make room for the full city plan in that area. The Aztecs and Russia finally sign a peace treaty the next turn. WWII is now officially over for the entire world!

Post WWII

Things quieted down quite readily after WWII, with Japanatica focusing on infrastructure and growth. There's not many techs left in the tech tree to research, but 2 new wonders have been built -- Longevity in Zojoji, and the Cure for Cancer in Shorin-Ryu. Zojoji has also started the Apollo Program. In 1815AD, the Space Program was started, and spaceship parts were being built.
