It's a good picture. Everyone seems so happy, well except you, you seem kind of non-impressed (I guess by whatever it is that everyone else is excited about). They look genuinely happy though, not fake-happy like I interrpret a lot of people to be. Which is good, it's nice to be around happy people who don't bust your chops for not being happy too, if you don't want to be. Just my interrpetation though of course, since I wasn't there. Just rambling.

Yes, beards are good. Itchy at first, but good. Very scandinavian, too, Mr. 84% barbarian! :lol: I studied with this brilliant british kid once, who, after noticing that I was growing my pathetic excuse for a beard, started quoting 18th and 19th century authors who praised the virtue of beards. He even went into the etymology of beards, and I was rather lost, but also quite impressed. Course my wife hates my beard, and probably for good reason. My beard is measly. I must get that from my mom! :lol:

OK, I'm sorry but the person in the first picture looks entirely different from the person in the second two. Am I missing something? To me, the second two appear to be of a youngish Middle Eastern man, while the first one appears to be of a more mature black man. Am I going insane?
The first one is a picture of some random guy. The second two are of him and hes obviously from the sub-continent and specifiically a Bengali (he even mentions it in the cricket match pic). I suppose I shouldn't expect you to be able to tell the difference between an Arab and a Bengali but they do live about 10,000 miles apart.

I'm still more embarassed about the pop-culture slip. I won't apologize for having grown up in an almost excusively white area; my ignorace on this matter is inculpable. It's a shortcoming I plan to fix, but I have had precious little chance to expose myself to Asian cultures or peoples of any kind. As for being in Bangalore, I assumed he was on vacation, as I have gathered from his posts he lives in the UK. His ethnicity does not change my opinion of the poster.

Yes. In fact, part of that nice girl is visible in the picture to my right (I'm not gonna post someone's face without their permission). In fact, I asked her out maybe an hour and a half later from the time this picture was taken, only about ten feet away from where we're lying in that picture.

I'm from Goa, India originally but have never lived there for any real length of time. I do go very regularly to visit family though. If you spoke to me on the phone you'd think you were speaking to an Englishman. And yes I too have mostly grown up in predominantly white communities but I don't have too many problems telling the difference between an Arab and an Indian (although it can be hard sometimes).

Anyway, sorry to have created such a bother :D.

I have MUCH MUCH longer hair now. Compare it to the pic I posted a couple of pages ago, that is alot of hair growth! I think my pic on that site is about 3 years old, the last pic I posted here is about 2 months old.

Rambuchan, I have an anecdote you may find interesting from my Sacramento pictures. Quick overview: I was in a sub program area consisting of 220 who pretty well represented the brightest teenage minds in California. Each one of them brings a proposal, and there are three rounds of elimination to weed out all but 16. When finding out that three of four of us in my delegation (myself included) made it through three rounds into "general assembly" to see if our proposals pass a vote. In finding out that we made it thus far, you can imagine the walk back to our hotel waiting for the next session was a party.

My friend had brought a couple of speakers in his suit pocket and it was P-Funk out the conference building (long way), across the street, into the sheraton, and up 14 flights of stairs, which we danced and grooved our way back (atomic daaaawg! we need the funk, give us the funk!).
