What is the ETA on SGOTM6? I've played the GOTM & COTM and have lost everyone so far (but I'm learning!). I'd like to join a team to learn a bit more of how the great players do what they do. I'm guessing that the top players wouldn't want a poor player like me on their team. I was just curious when to come back for the next SGOTM. I've been looking through all of the threads for SGOTM5 to learn some stuff, but it's not the same unless you are a part of the game.
I also figure I should look at everyone's play styles since I wouldn't be able to once the next one starts.

I'm sure mad-bax will find you a team.
On the other hand, I'm just thinking that maybe SGOTM isn't the best place to "learn the game". It's a competition anyway, so why not warm yourself up with a normal SG first? There are plenty of opportunities in the SG forum, including some great training games, and I'm sure you can learn much more over there. I would personally suggest people at least feel comfortable with Monarch level before joining SGOTM.

Based on the score graphs, it looks like most teams are within a couple of rotations of finishing, so -- end of next month? I'm just guessing, though.
(Noticed your SG up in the forum, Tubby -- good luck with it. :) )

Thanks. I'm taking Microbe's advice and just trying a SG first. If there is an opening and someone doesn't mind helping me along then I wouldn't mind playing in SGOTM6. But I'm not going to request a spot. I think that I would be more of a hindrance to any team. So I guess having me on the team could be akin to taking the Predator class of GOTM. No extra credit just harder....

I thought mad-bax was pretty keen that sgotm would be welcoming to new players, not just "experts". It seems a pity if we have drifted to a deity player only setup. I think players losing interest, or not discussing or following plans is more of a problem.
Although it is quite nice that my teammates are such stars :king: :king: :king: :king:

I agree with you, Offa. SGOTM is definitely more about the taking part than the winning IMO. I'd say that you'd be welcome in my team, Tubby but I'm afraid that Team Tone will soon be defunct so I can't make the offer! Good luck anyway.
