View Full Version : Byzantine cities
Varwnos Feb 02, 2005, 08:46 AM Hello,
This is a byzantine city series that i have made. I completed two versions for sizes #2 and #3, one standard, and one with "theodosian walls".
I hope you will have fun using them,
Kyriakos

(this is the new version. Good news: older versions now promoted to 'artifact' value. Do not throw in the recycle bin!) :D
Changes since last version: Emperor Romanos Diogenes has had his eyes taken out, and was forced to live as a monk in the eastern edge of the empire.
Ozymandias Feb 02, 2005, 09:09 AM Looks great! -- Personally, I like the Theodosian walls.

RedAlert Feb 02, 2005, 09:52 AM Theodosian walls! :D
(Although I think I've said this before) Truly some of your best work.
Varwnos Feb 02, 2005, 10:07 AM Some of your best roofs too, RA ;)
Varwnos Feb 02, 2005, 02:09 PM I edited some stuff, and now things look a lot better. All i see is OCD, but ok
:)
Corey Feb 02, 2005, 02:47 PM Excelent work varwnos:)
Varwnos Feb 03, 2005, 02:54 PM ty Corey ;)
Hm, it could also be used as the medieval era of the "roman" (ie roman, greek, byzantine civs) culture
Varwnos Feb 03, 2005, 06:56 PM Im thinking of making a few final changes, atm i have already changed the bottom church's entrance, which previewly was some ancient style doric columns. Now it is more eastern-christian looking. Also possibly city size#1 will have some grass instead of the abrupt edge. Any more suggestions?
HolyEmperor Feb 03, 2005, 10:21 PM I think it's great! :goodjob:
Although, I do miss a dome in the central church... :mischief:
Varwnos Feb 04, 2005, 10:23 AM Yes, this is more generic orthodox, and suggestive of being byzantine due to the red colours ;) Scam's series, edited by RedAlert, is probably the best one around (imo the best series ever, of every city style)
