View Full Version : Computer Speakers
Thunderfall Feb 16, 2005, 10:50 PM What kind of computer speakers do you have?
Right now I have a set of Labtec 2.0 speakers. I do plan to get a better one in the near future to take advantage of my new Audigy2 ZS sound card. :)
Any recommendations?
Knight-Dragon Feb 16, 2005, 10:52 PM I'd been using the same 2.1 Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers for the last 4-5 years. :smug:
Goober Feb 16, 2005, 11:08 PM Just the same, crappy Altec Lansing Speakers that came with this Computer more then 2 years ago.
ummmm........ Feb 16, 2005, 11:31 PM 2.1. And I've never been able to get my headphones to work.
Thrawn Feb 17, 2005, 01:41 AM Creative SBS 370 2.1. Not too shabby for their price, and I've got an Audigy LS to go with them. Wouldn't mind upgrading to a 5.1 set and newer soundcard at some point, only I don't have the room for that many speakers. :(
Jeratain Feb 17, 2005, 02:15 AM I currently have the Logitech Z-680 5.1 Surround speakers with a built-in Digital Dolby decoder (THX Certified). These things are extremely responsive and have a great quality build.
I would recommend these to you, but they have just been upgraded to the new model, which is a little better than what I have, so I would highly recommend this set of speakers: Logitech Z-5500 5.1 (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=36-121-120&depa=0).
The great thing about these is that you can use it with your computer, XBOX, PS2, TV, DVD Player, or whatever else without the need for any additional hardware since it has its own decoder. You can plug it into 3 separate components at once using one of the many outputs/inputs (digital coax, digital optical, analog).
Of course, there are other and better systems out there, but no 5.1 system has all of those features with a built-in decoder for less than $300.
LLXerxes Feb 17, 2005, 06:13 AM all I know is they say Inland and I have 2 :smug:
Hakim Feb 17, 2005, 06:18 AM Logitech Z3 2.1. I like them (partly because how they look) but I've seen a test where they didn't score very well (6/10 kindof).
ainwood Feb 17, 2005, 12:45 PM I have the most uselessest of useless speakers, which is a shame considering that my motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-434&depa=1) has an on-board 6-channel output.
Thunderfall Feb 17, 2005, 03:24 PM Good to know I am not the only one having a 2.0 speakers. :D
ummmm........ Feb 17, 2005, 03:29 PM Now be honest. This is a marketing question isn't it?
Cedric Greene Feb 17, 2005, 04:33 PM I've got these: http://www.buy.com//retail/product.asp?sku=10322733&dcaid=1688
Cost $20, and sound amazing, one of the better deals around too bad they're out again.

Souron Feb 17, 2005, 08:49 PM Some polk audio speakers that came with my desktop.
Pretty crappy, but better than by laptop's built in speakers.
Comraddict Feb 17, 2005, 08:53 PM 380W Logitech 4.1 THX certified. yeah baby!
