Hi,
I'm somewhat struggling to win at monarch level. The main reason for this seems to be that I'm too much of a builder. The idea is to play an Emperor level game using a typical warmonger civ and get instructed by the one or other experienced participant.

Difficulty: Emperor
Civ: TBD (warmonger)
World: continents/pangea, huge, other attributes random
Barbs: TBD
Standard victory conditions
Player victory by domination or conquest only

Couple of suggestions:
China is a good warmonger tribe.
Change map size to standard: bigger maps take a long time.
Drop back to Monarch and play a warfare variant like Always War or Oscillating War or Non-Oscillating War. OW or NOW allows for diplomacy and trade so I would incline to those two.

I'm open for any suggestions.

OW seems to be ideal. China is an obvious choice. No problems with that.

not a sign up. To overcome those builder prefs, add barbaric variant so you can't build cultural improvements. Definitely drop the world size to standard or even small. Panagea, 60% water as the Chinese should get you rolling. Mongols are always fun too. Good luck, welcome to SG land.

I will try that on a single player game, as I just signed up to a monarch level warmonger training game. Thanks for help.
