Governors - Manages citizens in cities under his/her control and the build queues. This is a Tactical Position. The first governor of this province gets to decide on the name of the province.

This position has not changed.

I would like to nominate and accept myself for this position. I would gladly answer any questions.

A bit about myself: I have C3C, v1.22, I have experience in the governor position, and am looking forward to a challenge. I will be away for 1 1/2 - 2 weeks in March, so I would need a deputy if I win.

Black_Hole, for the last time, it's Noldodan. Two d's! That goes for all of you! I accept, but I have a question: how many nominations can we accept?

Just one, as before.

I nominate Strider, since this position is unchanged from before this should be a perfect match. :D

Questions for the Candidates:
1. Do we prioritize military, growth, or culture?
2. Do we need granaries in most cities?
3. Barracks?
4. Temples?
5. How many more times will I mess up Noldodans name?

1. Culture, no. The AI will always out expand you in culture, and in the beginning, we only need culture in pressured cities on the border. Growth is far better than military in the early stages. We should focus on getting a few new cities, with our capital for settlers, and some other cities either for workers / commerce, and some military pumps.

2. Only in cities that will be producing workers / settlers, and even then, it's a case - by - case basis. If a city has tons of food, there is no point, but if we don't have many food bonuses (ie; one wheat or just grassland / cattle on plains), a granary could help to grow quicker, thereby producing workers / settlers quicker.

3. Only in cities set for military production. I would like to have one of our first few cities build a barracks and provide defense, explorers, and MPs for our other cities. The other cities should focus on expansion. This will also give us Veteran units, which are good for defense, rather than regulars.

4. No, unless the city is on the border with either (a) a foreign city whose borders have expanded once (> 9 culture points) or (b) a religious civ, but even then, still depends on the situation.

5. It will never end.

Keep the questions comin'. :)

1. Growth probably, but military if circumstances warrant it. For example, if we only have room for 4 cities in our area, then we should definetly focus much more on the military, as we will need it to at least keep up with the AI in expansion.

2. Depends on the map. If we have a lot of grasslands, only one or two for settler factories. If there's much of other stuff, then we will need the granaries to grow at a reasonable pace.

3. See point 1, second sentence.

4. Depends on the civ. Seeing as the Ottomans are winning the polls, the half-price libraries are going to be much better for culture.

5. Far too many. And you forgot the apostrophe. :p

PS: And a bit about myself, too. Conquests, latest patch. 11-time Governor, at least one term each in DGs II-V; 1-term Domestic Advisor. I like long walks on the beach and candlelit dinners... Oh wait, wrong place to post that.

Question

Would you discuss and poll the provincial name, or if not so, what would you call the province?

Ginger_Ale

Yes, I would create a thread in the Citizens forum open to names, and then I would put up a poll (I would exclude names that are poster's names: sorry Zarn ;) ).

You got my vote Ginger, and add, Culturally in line with Chosen Civ, and you are good to go.

I'd open a thread for suggestions, then turn them into Elvish and hold a poll. Unless I get something really good in English, that is. But elect me for experience and presentness (I'll only be gone a weekend), not for the Elvish. Unless you're really crazy or something.
