We really need some justice of objective criteria, let us get a European Judge.

I second Eklektikos

I nominate Cyc for this position.

Since I don't have the keys to the hoosegow, can we allow his acceptance to be posted via PM? That is, if he is even interested in running in the first place.

I also support Black_Hole for this position.

Eklektikos

Flattered though I am at being nominated for this position I am afraid that I will have to decline. My presence on these fora is too erratic and infrequent to do justice to the office and I have no intention of changing this state of affairs in the forseeable future.

I will, however, nominate Bill_in_PDX and Octavian X. These two citizens have both held this position in the past and discharged their duties with distinction and I believe that either of them would once again make a fine Chief Justice should they be given - and accept - the opportunity to resume that role. Cyc's nomination also has my support.

well according to the election CoL:
A nomination is not considered Accepted until the candidate
makes an explicit post. All self-nominations are considered
Accepted unless otherwise stated.
He needs to post to accept, however he could self nominate by PM and that would work...

any questions?

Thanks, Ek, for the consideration, but I will decline the nomination. So long as we're diving head-first into a new government, I'd like to actually to participate in one of it's newer offices. Besides, after the last month, I'd rather not spend my time here staring down a constitution...

I will, though, call on Eklektikos and Bill to run.

I am flattered, but will decline this nomination. I am too new to this new approach to the government to be of use. I have much to learn.

i dislike the spectrum idea on CC voting... I hope to have a discussion on this and the procedures in general. I will also think about some stricter requirements for JRs and CCs, and maybe clerify a few things.

I also do think that an Evaluation Office could be in place to provide evidence for legal procedures, but by first prodding the failing official, taking note of failed response and then processing this to the Judiciary for a fair and speedy trial. More strict legal criteria does not mean a free for all anarchy or Mad Max economy where officials, in particular those not accountable but mandated, can follow their whims with no consequences.

But I agree, very strict objective criteria for all legal processes.

Question for the candidates:
Do you believe that the accuser in the case of a CC should be able to remain anonymous?

yes, the point of a CC is to try the leader for breaking a law... it is not a battle between the leader and the filer. however I will add this topic to my discussion on the judicial procedures(if i win ;) , competition is fierce...)
