TimBentley Feb 28, 2005, 04:52 PM Discussions about exploration (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=113229) have begun.
TimBentley Mar 04, 2005, 12:21 PM The advisor screens are up. I must say I agree with them. ;)
In the future, I intend to provide more detailed information (and I may not have the advisor screens because they provide redundant information). Among the things I intend to include are full military statistics (the number of all types of units, including captured units, probably include experience where appropriate) and a detailed description of each AI: attitude, # of cities, tech position (what techs they're up or we're up), resources, military strength (strong/average/weak), active trades (including when they expire). Actually I may include the F4 screen because I don't feel like mentioning every known AI-AI war. If there's anything I've forgotten or anything else you'd like me to include, please mention it.
There's a discussion now about foreign affairs (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=113527)
CoolioVonHoolio Mar 05, 2005, 02:48 PM looks pretty sweet to me
TimBentley Mar 07, 2005, 07:03 PM Now I have my new format up. Any comments on it are welcome. It looks like perhaps India knows somebody and bought pottery from them for ceremonial burial and 7g.
Chieftess Mar 13, 2005, 11:15 AM We have met the Dutch and Chinese. What's your agenda for those civs?
YNCS Mar 13, 2005, 12:37 PM We're going to get writing fairly soon. With writing comes the ability to build embassies. Since we've already met three of the neighbors, we have to consider if we want embassies and with whom.
TimBentley Mar 14, 2005, 01:25 AM The second post is updated. We have met the Netherlands and China. The Netherlands must have been India's trading partner, and it looks like they got 25g from a hut. It seems like China knows somebody, from whom they bought pottery (or they could have popped it from a hut). They may have bought bronze working, or they may have researched it themselves. It looks like either they or their partner got 25g from a hut.
It's too late for strategic thinking; I'll get to that tomorrow.
DaveShack Mar 16, 2005, 08:06 AM We have met Persia, on the other side of China. It might be time to ask the citizens to start categorizing threats vs allies.
TimBentley Mar 17, 2005, 12:07 AM Second post is updated. Persia seems like China's partner. However, their lack of gold and knowledge of alphabet is interesting, since China has not gained anything other than our 2gpt for 3 turns. It seems they bought alphabet from somebody else. I would conjecture they paid masonry and 15g for it.
I'll be gone from Friday until a week from Monday, so Ulyaoth will be in charge of discussions.
TimBentley Mar 18, 2005, 12:25 AM Second post updated. We have met Portugal, the Byzantines, and Japan, and more technologies have been learned by others. It's becoming more complex, so my only conjecture is that mysticism was popped from a hut (either by China or someone we don't know). It's cheap and not an AI priority.
TimBentley Mar 28, 2005, 02:11 PM Well, I'm back. I might do something productive before handing it over to the new consul. I'll update the second post, certainly.
Edit: Second post updated. I didn't feel like getting more precise with the cultural estimates, and I don't feel like MapStat doing what I don't want to do.
