View Full Version : New unit: Phoenix Guard (Mar 1st, 2005)
aaglo Mar 01, 2005, 09:44 AM Hello!
Here is a Phoenix Guard -unit. Phoenix Guards are elite warriors of the high-elves. Enjoy :)
Here is civilopedia info (from the games workshop website):
"Of the many great warriors of the High Elf people, the most fearsome to face are the silent guardians of the Shrine of Asuryan. Known as the Phoenix Guard, the main duty of these warrior monks is to protect the island shrine and all those who make their pilgrimage there. Particularly important is the eternal flame, through which the chosen candidate for Phoenix King must walk in order to receive the blessing."

Steel General Mar 01, 2005, 09:48 AM Very nice!! :)
mrtn Mar 01, 2005, 09:51 AM Yey!
This'll find it's way into LOTM too. :)
Scytale Mar 01, 2005, 09:59 AM Thank you for this great unit :goodjob: ! I'll replace the old animation for Phoenix Guard right away.
Maybe now, you will consider doing some more elven units :)
RRnut Mar 01, 2005, 10:00 AM That cloak is great!!! Aaglo, you have outdone yourself.
Mithadan Mar 01, 2005, 10:55 AM Yey!
This'll find it's way into LOTM too. :)My thoughts exactly! To think, once upon a time aaglo thought he couldn't do humanoid units... (or was he just hiding something from us?)
Snorken Mar 01, 2005, 11:06 AM Very nice! :) I think there's a little too much reflection on his halberd, though...
Yoda Power Mar 01, 2005, 12:01 PM It's very nice:goodjob:
CamJH Mar 01, 2005, 01:41 PM Looks like Mayene gets another unit for the WoT Mod too. :D
Great unit aaglo!
Orthanc Mar 01, 2005, 02:14 PM This was unexpected! Some one actually tall AND good for a change!
The clothes are great, especially the helmet. Good job AGAIN aaglo
:goodjob: to the power of :goodjob:
Raw is War? Mar 01, 2005, 02:34 PM Great work aaglo, it looks fab! :D
Gomurr Mar 01, 2005, 02:41 PM Awesome unit, aaglo. As always, your creations are simply amazing.
tjedge1 Mar 01, 2005, 04:31 PM Very nice unit. How many more are you going to make for the WH mod? Just trying to figure out an estimated time on when ED will release the new version.
Hikaro Takayama Mar 01, 2005, 11:51 PM Whoa! this guys looks almost exactly like Kain from FF IV (which means that I'm going to have to change the graphics for Kain's Dragoons now). Keep up the good work. I'll hopefully be back up to unit making shortly.
Kinboat Mar 02, 2005, 06:55 PM Looks Great :D
vbraun Mar 02, 2005, 08:14 PM Very nice.
BTW, aaglo, nearly all of your unit threads begin with "Hi!" or "Hi All!" or something similar on one line. I just though I'd point that out. :)
Swiss Bezerker Mar 02, 2005, 08:30 PM I like it!!! keep it up!!!
Bungus Mar 03, 2005, 09:39 PM Maybe its from doing all those dwarves and orcs, but this guy seems a little top-heavy. Is the camera angle the same as normal?
aaglo Mar 04, 2005, 01:16 AM @Bungus
Top heavy? I don't think so.
Yep, the camera angle is the same as in those dwarves done earlier - and it's orthogonal, so it's not a perspective issue either. Maybe the large helmet makes it look a bit top heavy to you.
mrtn Mar 04, 2005, 05:28 AM "Top Heavy" just make me think of the RPG Macho Women With Guns (and the expansion Bat Winged Bimbos From Hell). :groucho:
aaglo Mar 24, 2005, 10:32 AM Hi!
