Hey guys, this is my first post. Is it in the right forum? I hope so, remember I'm a noob.
I'm playing a CivIII game right now where it takes about 40 seconds between turns because there are so many units. I'm playing with huge world and every nation at Random. Well...
I'm playing Germany, and pretending to be the "World Moderator" kind of like America is now with the rest of the world (Iraq and all...) - so, naturally, I'm the most technologically advanced (1150 AD and have Battleships)... and the largest nation.
First, on the same continent is the Persians. 2 Cities. I've already blocked them in and nobody has Galleys yet. Before I (and them for that matter) meet another nation, I abolish them even though my goal is to make the world safe for everyone when I meet more civs. (Nobody ever found out)
So that's the persian war. The Egyptian war is more interesting. Egypt, with their galleys (i still had galleys) kept wandering into my territory. Thus, I told them to get out at least 5 times. They didn't. So I declared war on them. 5 other nations knew it. (England is between Egypt and me)
I take units down to egypt and capture 2 of their closest cities, then we sign a peace treaty.
Great, right? Well, it's not over. That's not the egyptian war. That very next turn came about 4 other military alliances (or so) against Egypt. I thought nothing of it until I remembered I wanted to be world moderator. Apparently those 4 nations wanted to take advantage of its weakened state.
I jump into the war with Egypt and fight off the other nations. Things don't go too well. I don't remember all the details but I had to abolish England and then Egypt and I were borders. It took about 2000 years for it to quiet down.
Eventually it did, Egypt survived and I captured some cities for it, and gave it to the Egyptians because they lost some of their cities. Well, the world peace only lasted about 5 or 10 turns.
Here comes the WORLD WAR. Suddenly, for no reason whatsoever, every starts declaring war with everybody else. Egypt is at war so I jump in to help it and then people are declaring war on me, it was just CRAZY. And ridiculous. At this time my best unit was the Knight. It's about 800 A.D.
Suprisingly, at 1100 AD (just 100 years ago), 2 new nations were discovered that no other nation knew of. China and the Aztecs. I give them communications but unfortunately they were in the war AGAINST me.
The war is just crazy now. I'll see if I can get a screenie and post it. I have battleship while other nations have Cavalry at best. Flight's coming up soon too.
Was this okay for my first story? And being rushed?
Thanks,
