Saves are now available for Classic GOTM 41: Persia

Civilization: Persia
World: Standard, Continents, 70% Ocean
Configuration: 5 billions, Wet, warm.
Barbarians: Sedentary.
Difficulty: Monarch.
Rivals: 7.

Goody Hut effects: In the current COTM, these were modified to give workers rather than settlers. If you encounter any goody huts in this game, they are "normal" (ie the modification was not made to this game).

This will be my 1st GOTM attempt (i ditched the previous one, don't like Robinson Crusoe starts)

That's great. :goodjob: I got a worker 40 tiles away from my home territory in COTM10 and wasn't able to get it through the barbs before losing it!!

No pressure. I'm still trying not to screw up. My trend has been positive in the past three games but we'll see.

I'm excited. :D I screwed up on 40, but replayed it later with better results. Then I went and played 39 and am cleaning out the continent, so I think I can do really well here (for me). I just hope there is iron around...

Why is everyone so obsessed with iron. :lol:
I would be happy if i had horses nearby and then i can get myself iron even closest source on the opposite site of our starting continent. Besides i would not need to trigger early GAs that way.
