So...what is the name of our country going to be....

Everyone post suggestions here...me and Duck will take the top 5 or 10 and post a poll tomorrow.

My suggestions......

Strogren (Yeah...I know it blows.)

(We should also get a flag too....so graphics artists...keep that in mind. :D)

I was going to suggest Cornflander (the land of the cornflandians or cornflanders), but our modest Duck said in another thread he was going to have a city named after him (as is Corn probably), and that this was enough.

Anyway, a not very creative one would be Fanaticland.

I don't know about a name, but I'll try and come up with a flag.

How's this for a first try? I'll get something different if you don't like it.

Try and make it smaller. And it's best to wait until we pick a name first....incase the name MEANS something....then the flag should reflect.

Seriously though, why do we have to have lettering on the flag? Most national flags today don't have the initials of their country on them. One suggestion for coloring: we could have three colors on the flag to represent the three versions of Civ.:) But try to stay away from the really common and overused tri-colors, such as red white and blue, red white and green, and orange yellow and black.

Well, WR, you answer, and then theres 'Attach file' window at the bottom of reply -screen.

The colours are too garish and clash too much, don't put colours of bright tones together, mix them with dark tones, otherwise its very unpleasant to the eyes.

The flag attached at the bottom is my submission for that. *Note* This flag is both my first attempt at attaching something to a message and at using a computer paint program (Microsoft Paint) so it isn't much...

For the flag, I think we should make it the standard dimensions of most national flags, which is 1x2, and not include our name or any abbreviation thereof on it.

This flag has the standard 1x2 dimensions that is the norm among nations today. It's three colors represent the three versions of Civ, each occupying an equal space on the flag. The 50 small stars are for the 50 members of our nation, and can be added to if our nation grows. The eight points on the central star are for the eight divisions of our governing council, and finally the central star itself represents our unified strengths and abilities in the form of our nation.

And, btw, if Civ2 Democracy game has 50 members, why on earth we have

Appolo's flag has something southern ,a bit like a mix between a bolivian and Brazilian flag.
Anyway ,everybody is still in the runing ,but we'll vote soon so if you have still an idea then post it.

I'm split. Apollo's is cool, and has the symbolism, but AOA's is wicked. I can just picture our knights riding into battle with that lion on their shields. Now all we have to do is invent armor, the stirrup, iron working, horseback riding,...;)

Ok...I've extracted the names and flags from the forum and am going to hold a poll for both. I'm going to use Sixchan's last flag as AoA's entry because that's what he wanted. (Hope you don't mind Sixchan)

And I'm going to shrink Apollo's flag (so it will fit on the page) and then I'll post.

When I shrunk it the crosses got messed up....so I had to remake them all....but it looks good. If I messed something up Apollo, please remake your version to 400x200 (That's what I did for yours)
