View Full Version : Looking For Beta Testers
the100thballoon Mar 20, 2005, 09:59 PM My next "mod" (really just a MASSIVE upgrade but im releasing under new name) is pretty much complete. I just need some beta testers to help me test it out before i release it to the public next weekend (or later but id like to release it next friday).
I am looking for up to 10 testers to play the modpack and record problems in it. On Thursday they will report back to me (through pm or email) and Thursday night-Friday morning I will fix those problems and release the mod here on Civfanatics in the Completed Modpacks forum.
I was very hesitant to release any details on the modpack but I feel that all those considering testing the mod kinda need to know what its about. Here is a brief summary (a long description is posted on a web site that will be launched with the mod and I will open a preview thread in Creation & Customization on Wed or Thurs):
Some Features:
NEW Mercenary System with 42 potentially conquerable peoples and 47 mercenary units
Electricity
NEW Techs and NEW Tech organization
NEW Buildings
NEW Units
NEW Gfx and Audio for some units and animations
I am really priding myself on the first two but the other additions are sweet, too.
I NEED TO KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BETA TEST THIS MOD BY MONDAY, MARCH 21, 2005 AT 2:45 PM US CENTRAL TIME.
thanks!
balloon
LAW_FREAK Mar 20, 2005, 10:02 PM I'll hop ob board and take er for a spin
GRM7584 Mar 20, 2005, 11:55 PM I don't really have the time to beta test, but I can offer a tip, if you haven't done it already:
Before you release the thing: make a scenario, and place EVERY unit in the mod under the control of a player civilization, as well as a city with all buildings. When you load it, it functions as a catch-all for any inconsistencies in unit naming, pediaicons, missing or misnamed graphics, et cetera ad infinitum. Then, open the civilopedia index, and scroll all the way down. This will save you and the testers a bit of time and trouble. There might be a utility or two that does that stuff for you, but what fun is that?

i realize this and do this for every mod i create.
still need beta testers!
Pfeffersack Mar 21, 2005, 10:41 AM I would like to help you with testing, if you don't mind my restricted time (but I should be able to play it at least some hours until Thursday).
JuuL Mar 21, 2005, 10:52 AM Well, I don't know what this mod is about, but I'm quite curious... it sounds like you've made a lot of interesting changes... I'll test it, just pm me.
JG99_Korab Mar 21, 2005, 11:28 AM I'd be happy to test for you
Anarki Mar 21, 2005, 01:36 PM I'll do some beta testing.

the100thballoon Mar 22, 2005, 07:54 AM ill send you the list of known errors tonight. im at school right now.
davbenbak Mar 22, 2005, 09:43 AM If you would give me some kind of idea of what the mod entails I would be much more likely to spend the time to test it.
JG99_Korab Mar 22, 2005, 09:46 AM REALISM MOD v1.3
first try on game. Built two cities. finish turn then popup comes up some sorry civ3 needs to close. Then the game goes black.
Can't play. Game keeps crashing
Anarki Mar 22, 2005, 02:37 PM ... I coudn't actually find the file to play it... Anywhere...
EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. Beggining the testing, proccess...
Bluemofia Mar 22, 2005, 02:57 PM I found an error.
Seth the Dark Mar 22, 2005, 04:28 PM I have begun to play the mod with a full set of civs on warlord difficulty. I am playing as the Ottomans and have already eliminated the Byzantines and am at war with the Babylonians and Sumerians.
the100thballoon Mar 22, 2005, 06:08 PM I have begun to play the mod with a full set of civs on warlord difficulty. I am playing as the Ottomans and have already eliminated the Byzantines and am at war with the Babylonians and Sumerians.
sweet! have you used your "citizens" yet? i mainly created them as a draft unit (for a somewhat more realistic touch) and last second defense strategy. have fun and please be sure to build every new unit and building to make sure that everything is working.
WORD OF ADVICE: Before you build anything new you should save your game in case there is a problem. (unless you play with autosaving)
the100thballoon Mar 22, 2005, 06:13 PM I found an error.
ya..... about that...... im sorry. seems i didnt upload the mercenary civilopedia icons. im sorry. here they are. (http://66.227.8.82/~civguy/beta/merc_icons.zip) just put them in Conquests\Scenarios\Realism\Art\Civilopedia\Icons\ onepointfour.
Bluemofia Mar 22, 2005, 06:15 PM Are the archers supposed to have 1 attack?
the100thballoon Mar 22, 2005, 06:19 PM REALISM MOD v1.3
first try on game. Built two cities. finish turn then popup comes up some sorry civ3 needs to close. Then the game goes black.
Can't play. Game keeps crashing
who are you playing as? did you modify the biq file in any way?
@All testers
Here is the list of known errors. (http://66.227.8.82/~civguy/realism/Text files about mod/NOT WORKING.txt) It is quite small because i have not been able to test it much. (Why I need all of you generous, thoughtful, wonderful people! )
the100thballoon Mar 22, 2005, 06:20 PM Are the archers supposed to have 1 attack?
yes, and the spearmen should have 2 attack and 2 defense.
EDIT: Love ur sig!
Bluemofia Mar 22, 2005, 06:22 PM I don't get why.
As a side note: This thing is taking longer than the TETukurhan mod.
Bluemofia Mar 22, 2005, 06:24 PM Are the goody huts supposed to be able to give me jaguar warriors?
the100thballoon Mar 22, 2005, 06:45 PM Are the goody huts supposed to be able to give me jaguar warriors?
it gave you a freakin jag warrior? ****! [looks through units section in Civ3Edit]
ahhh! i see the problem. because of the new mercenary system, jags were made available to barbs, too. guess I need to change that. Ill note it in the list of errors.
BTW, ill try to update the list of errors with the info you guys tell me. that way you can check it and reference it.
the100thballoon Mar 22, 2005, 06:47 PM I don't get why.
As a side note: This thing is taking longer than the TETukurhan mod.
archers have always been (predominatly) defenders. spearmen can be used as both.
I have never played the TETurkhan mod.
Bluemofia Mar 22, 2005, 06:52 PM I have noticed that the ais always build citizens to protect their settlers.
Seth the Dark Mar 22, 2005, 06:59 PM No I haven't used citizens. How do you build them?
Side Note: The music seems to be messed up because there is a constant buzzing and I think it has to do with the volcanos. Maybe.
Bluemofia Mar 22, 2005, 07:20 PM I turned off the sound.
Seth the Dark Mar 22, 2005, 11:26 PM I have really bad news, the game froze up. I think its because I had a full list of civilizations and I saved a LONG time ago and I will start up again.
One mistake I noticed is that Barbarians had the guerilla unit in the late Ancient Era:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v653/SeththeDark/Mistake.jpg
JG99_Korab Mar 23, 2005, 02:27 AM [QUOTE=the100thballoon]who are you playing as? did you modify the biq file in any way?
I have been playing as the americans. I built washington. get a few turns. then build newyork. and then I think it is the next turn after i built new york that the game crashes. I have not modified the bic in any way. also, are we supposed to start with no military units? Because I never start with any. not even warrior
JG99_Korab Mar 23, 2005, 02:30 AM Its not even civ sending the popup. It is microsoft saying this program has to close. I will try playing some different civs today.
JG99_Korab Mar 23, 2005, 02:56 AM here is the sav file. Maybe you guys could check it out.
Seth the Dark Mar 23, 2005, 03:18 AM One thing I would like to say is I think that religious buildings (i.e. Temples) relying on incense is a bad idea because I am playing as the Mayans and there is no way I can build even the most basic Temple. :(
JuuL Mar 23, 2005, 04:29 AM I agree with Seth the Dark... you should pu more Incense on the map or make it possible to build Temples without it.
I have also noticed some other problems and/or strange things:
- Something went terribly wrong when you changed labels.txt. The date have been "Nov." for centuries... and in the game setup menu everything is in the wrong places...
- The civs are not always starting in the right places. First time I tried to play the game I wanted to play as the Romans. For some unknown reason I started in Spain (without my Palace Guards)... I then tried to play as the Spanish to see where they would start. They started in America and when playing as the Americans, I started in Spain
- As all the others may have noticed, Organized Offensives are placed in the upper left corner of the screen.
- How can Philosophy/Gilgamesh double the happiness of Universities/Heroic Epics, when Universities/Heroics Epics do not give any happy faces?
- Why are there two Modern Cavalries?
- Why is the Spy Network replaced by the Espionage Center, which is replaced by then Foreign Intelligence HQ, which is then replaced by the Intelligence Agency and then replaced again by the CIA? They all do almost exactly the same… it seems silly.
Plotinus Mar 23, 2005, 04:43 AM I can at least say that the "Nov." problem, and the problem with the game setup menu, is caused by you not having Conquests 1.22 - upgrade it and that will be fine.
Pfeffersack Mar 23, 2005, 08:07 AM - Epic of Gilgamesh has no icon in building queue
- I saw a barbarian encampment with about 10 guerillas (attack 10!) in 1790 BC...is that really intended?
the100thballoon Mar 23, 2005, 08:41 AM I have noticed that the ais always build citizens to protect their settlers.
most likely because they are the cheapest defenders by far.
here is the sav file. Maybe you guys could check it out.
I will try to load it when I get home today.
The music seems to be messed up because there is a constant buzzing and I think it has to do with the volcanos. Maybe.
 I put in some sounds to play when volcanos smolder or erupt. Could that be it?
One mistake I noticed is that Barbarians had the guerilla unit in the late Ancient Era
This is only a semi-mistake. I wanted barbs to be a threat later in the game, too, instead of just being an ancient age and early middle ages threat. I didn't think modern day terrorist groups used spears and small axes to fight world powers.
are we supposed to start with no military units? Because I never start with any. not even warrior
ALL players (for the benefit of the AI and to prevent "rushing") start with two palace guards. These units are IMMOBILE and if you really dislike them you can disband them. They wont help you in any way except to add a little defense early in the game. They dont upgrade (giving you a cheap unit later in the game) and they are pretty much obsolete once you advance to the middle ages.
One thing I would like to say is I think that religious buildings (i.e. Temples) relying on incense is a bad idea because I am playing as the Mayans and there is no way I can build even the most basic Temple. :(
I noticed that, too and was considering removing that requirement. My only hesitation is that im going for "real" and being able to build random buildings without ANY resources is a bit farfetched. I am considering adding a resource called "lumber" or something.
- Something went terribly wrong when you changed labels.txt. The date have been "Nov." for centuries... and in the game setup menu everything is in the wrong places...
I have noticed this and forgotten about it. I ended up just deleting the labels.txt from the "Realism" folder. I will add it to the known-errors list.
- The civs are not always starting in the right places. First time I tried to play the game I wanted to play as the Romans. For some unknown reason I started in Spain (without my Palace Guards)... I then tried to play as the Spanish to see where they would start. They started in America and when playing as the Americans, I started in Spain
This shouldnt happen. All civs should have starting locations owned only by themselves. Are you playing "Power House.biq"? IS EVERYONE PLAYIN "Power House.biq"? THIS IS THE CORRECT BIQ FILE TO BE PLAYING AS.
- As all the others may have noticed, Organized Offensives are placed in the upper left corner of the screen.
This is impossible. I have actually checked this. Make sure you are playing the correct biq file. I gave all of you the other "Realism" biq files as a reference of what has been changed pre-Power House. Maybe I should have said that clearer?
- How can Philosophy/Gilgamesh double the happiness of Universities/Heroic Epics, when Universities/Heroics Epics do not give any happy faces?
I dont know. hehe :mischief: Oops! Guess I should give them some happiness... Thanks for pointing that out.
- Why are there two Modern Cavalries?
Because horses do not appear in the Americas until the late middle ages. Since this resource is different I had to "add" a unit so that cavalry could be built in America instead of only Europe/Asia/Africa. You will see that they cannot be both built at the same time and that they cancel each other out.
- Why is the Spy Network replaced by the Espionage Center, which is replaced by then Foreign Intelligence HQ, which is then replaced by the Intelligence Agency and then replaced again by the CIA? They all do almost exactly the same… it seems silly.
just call me silly. :p Just one of my little things I added. When I release the mod I am going to hold polls on some features. If the public votes for it to be removed, I will remove it (though I will still post the origional as a separate file for those people like me.)
Pfeffersack Mar 23, 2005, 09:10 AM Organized Offense defenitly is located in the left upper corner with 1.3.
I checked it in the editor, the missing X and Y-coordinates are the problem.
I noticed a strange graphic error in deserts when advancing to the Middle Age:
JuuL Mar 23, 2005, 09:50 AM
I've been playing 1.3... I'll begin testing the right one...
Pheffersack: I think the problem is with the small Asian city graphics. There must be a spot of "almost the right colour". Happens to me a lot.
Pfeffersack Mar 23, 2005, 10:18 AM Eh...does that mean 1.3 isn't the newest version? What version then?
Anarki Mar 23, 2005, 12:01 PM Urrr... I started playing the Game... Looks good... I noticed that in the Civilopedia it says that Palace Guards are used by AI only, even though the Human Player gets two at the beggining, also, it says it has a movement of 1, when it should say 0. Anyway, after seeing this very small fault, I continued to play the Game, but when I opened up the Tech Chooser and moved to Middle Ages There were files missing, causing my Game to crash. Is this done on purpose?
JuuL Mar 23, 2005, 02:53 PM I'm sorry, but I don't have enough time to play an entire game. But I did find a few things to comment on.
Problems:
- Pediatext of the Greeks should be updated because of the new leader name.
- The pediatext of Cure for Cancer is wrong. It doubles growth rate of all cities.
- I am not sure if you are aware of this or not, but if a Wonder makes one citizen happy in all cities, this includes the city in which it is built. If it also makes one citizen happy in its own city, it will be a total of two happy citizens, not one.
- There is something wrong with the large pedia icon of Crude Spirituality.
- Some buildings (Silk Road, Spice Road, Philosophy) are linked to the wrong texts/graphics.
- The following icons have purple spots on them in game (white and black should be replaced by light/dark gray): Theology (large), Shamanism (small and large)
- The icons of Electricity and Electric Company should be resized.
- A lot of the building graphics are just the Den of Spies/Forbidden Palace/Spaceship Part graphics. I guess that this is wrong.
Comments/Suggestions:
- It is not known if Ragnar Lodbrok (Viking leader) really lived. I debated this with some other Scandinavian CivFanatics on the forums and we decided that Knud the Great would be the best leader. The old graphics can still be used. If you want to, you can read the debate here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=90756&page=1&pp=20) (please ignore my verbal attack on Beloyar)
- Cleopatra was Greek… and a bad leader. King Ramses II would be better… there are some good graphics on the forums.
- Removing the Apollo Program could have been done better. Just delete it or replace it with another building… and the same can be done with the space ship components.
- The Knight of Anubis is a bit out of place. When inventing Chivalry, the Egyptians have already invented Monotheism (Islam). This makes it absurd to give them a unit that is named after an ancient, polytheistic god.
- The Ironclads graphics are a bit strange. There are some good ones on the forums.
Seth the Dark Mar 23, 2005, 04:32 PM Wow there seems to be a lot of bugs that need to be fixed. When its completed I will defintely download it.
Problems
-When I played 31 Civs there was no name for Carthage in the Foreign Screen
-Greek Hopilite is out of place because the normal spearman is 2.2.1 but the hopilite is 1.3.1 maybe it should be 2.3.1
-Need to change description of Heroic Epic, I think it should be used for the Epic of Gilgamesh
-In Civilopedia of resources there are two horses when one should be camels
-In the luxury part of the city screen, dyes appear as incense
-I think Iroquois Bowmen are too powerful
-I think your description of Slavery is too politcally correct
I put in some sounds to play when volcanos smolder or erupt. Could that be it?
That might be it. When I play eventually the hissing starts up again.
the100thballoon Mar 23, 2005, 08:07 PM I can at least say that the "Nov." problem, and the problem with the game setup menu, is caused by you not having Conquests 1.22 - upgrade it and that will be fine.
see previous post.....
- Epic of Gilgamesh has no icon in building queue
I realized this when I was messin with the buildings_large.pcx the other day. I'll note it and fix it. Anyone know where the extended buildings_large and _small is located?
I saw a barbarian encampment with about 10 guerillas (attack 10!) in 1790 BC...is that really intended?
see earlier post.......
Organized Offense defenitly is located in the left upper corner with 1.3.
I checked it in the editor, the missing X and Y-coordinates are the problem.
You have to be playing the wrong biq file. "Power House.biq" is the right file.
I noticed a strange graphic error in deserts when advancing to the Middle Age:
I have never seen this before....... and I have played as an Asian nation, too..... hmmmmmmm.....
Urrr... I started playing the Game... Looks good... I noticed that in the Civilopedia it says that Palace Guards are used by AI only, even though the Human Player gets two at the beggining, also, it says it has a movement of 1, when it should say 0.
I will change their movement to 0 but technically it already is (they have the immobile tag). I will alter the Civilopedia entry to say that all players start with Palace Guards. All players have to start with them so that I can keep them as flavor units.
when I opened up the Tech Chooser and moved to Middle Ages There were files missing, causing my Game to crash. Is this done on purpose?
Of course I did not do that on purpose! Why would I purposefully leave files out of the pack you downloaded? What files were missing? I need to know so that I can fix the problem.
I'm sorry, but I don't have enough time to play an entire game. But I did find a few things to comment on.
Not a huge problem. Thanks for your input!
Pediatext of the Greeks should be updated because of the new leader name.
Gotcha. [notes the problem in notepad]
The pediatext of Cure for Cancer is wrong. It doubles growth rate of all cities.
I will fix that.
I am not sure if you are aware of this or not, but if a Wonder makes one citizen happy in all cities, this includes the city in which it is built. If it also makes one citizen happy in its own city, it will be a total of two happy citizens, not one.
Ok, I'll update the Civilopedia entry(ies).
There is something wrong with the large pedia icon of Crude Spirituality.
I know. Its in the list of known errors. :mischief:
Some buildings (Silk Road, Spice Road, Philosophy) are linked to the wrong texts/graphics.
You're kidding! Really? When I have played its been fine. I'll check again.
The following icons have purple spots on them in game (white and black should be replaced by light/dark gray): Theology (large), Shamanism (small and large)
Okay, I'll open up PSP9T and recolor the spots to grey.
The icons of Electricity and Electric Company should be resized.
They can't be. They are already 128x128 and 32x32.
A lot of the building graphics are just the Den of Spies/Forbidden Palace/Spaceship Part graphics. I guess that this is wrong.
It is wrong but I have never seen this before. I plan on doing a full in-game test tomorow night so I will recheck all of these things.
It is not known if Ragnar Lodbrok (Viking leader) really lived.
Actually, I may use Eric the Red or Leif Ericson. But...... if you can tell me what Knud contributed to the Viking civilization...... I'll consider using him instead.
Cleopatra was Greek… and a bad leader. King Ramses II would be better… there are some good graphics on the forums.
I agree. (I hadn't thought about replacing leaders until you mentioned it. Now I might just go and replace like 6 of them. )
Removing the Apollo Program could have been done better. Just delete it or replace it with another building… and the same can be done with the space ship components.
This doesnt really bother me. I may delete it formally. I may not. I still have to keep the note about not enabling space race victory either way.
The Knight of Anubis is a bit out of place. When inventing Chivalry, the Egyptians have already invented Monotheism (Islam). This makes it absurd to give them a unit that is named after an ancient, polytheistic god.
- The Ironclads graphics are a bit strange. There are some good ones on the forums.
Now that you mention it, I'll probably use them as a swordsmen replacement.
Wow there seems to be a lot of bugs that need to be fixed. When its completed I will defintely download it.
It looks like I needed you guys more than I thought. :D
When I played 31 Civs there was no name for Carthage in the Foreign Screen
Thats really weird. It could be the labels.txt messin up. I'll make sure I include them in my test tomorow night.
Greek Hopilite is out of place because the normal spearman is 2.2.1 but the hopilite is 1.3.1 maybe it should be 2.3.1
Noted and gonna be changed to 3.2.1
Need to change description of Heroic Epic, I think it should be used for the Epic of Gilgamesh
I dunno..... maybe I'll remove Epic of Gilgamesh and change the name of Heroic Epic.
In Civilopedia of resources there are two horses when one should be camels
One for the Americas and one for the rest of the world. Horses are not indigenous to the Americas.
In the luxury part of the city screen, dyes appear as incense
Really? Don't know how to fix that........
I think Iroquois Bowmen are too powerful
Why?
I think your description of Slavery is too politcally correct
 Me too. I just really didnt want to start a major uproar on the forums over my entry. I'll generalize the definition. Hmmmm..... [thinking] I JUST GOT AN IDEA! [curses because already has too much to do] [curses again because realizes that it is impossible to implement]
When I play eventually the hissing starts up again.
 :rotfl:  I nearly fell out of my chair when you described it in your earlier post. I dont know why I find it so funny.
Bluemofia Mar 23, 2005, 08:16 PM I don't know what happened, but the game just forze and stayed frozen.
Seth the Dark Mar 23, 2005, 09:39 PM It happened to me too.

There ya go
JG99_Korab Mar 24, 2005, 03:29 AM so We are only supposed to be playing powerhouse.bic?
JG99_Korab Mar 24, 2005, 03:29 AM If so, why do you put all the others in?
JuuL Mar 24, 2005, 03:34 AM Actually, I may use Eric the Red or Leif Ericson. But...... if you can tell me what Knud contributed to the Viking civilization...... I'll consider using him instead.
Why you shouldn't use Erik the Red or Leif Erikson (quote by me, from the debate (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=90756&page=1&pp=20) ): Erik the Red was an idiot. He murdered somebody and got banished from Norway. Then he sailed west and colonized Iceland. Then he murdered somebody again and got banished again ( ). Then he sailed west again, discovered Greenland and built a few colonies. Then his son (Leif) sails west, too, and discovers North America. All this discovering is of course very good, but a few decades after Erik died, the Vikings gave up and went home. What kind of a leader is that?
Why you should Knud the Great: In the debate, we agreed that the Scandinavian ruler should: 1) have been a King in the viking Age 2) have ruled as much of both Denmark, Norway and Sweden as possible (or at least I agreed... :p ). Not only did Knud the Great do this, he also ruled England and some of the Atlantic islands (Iceland, Greenland etc... I can't remember which of them it was).
the100thballoon Mar 24, 2005, 08:09 AM Why you shouldn't use Erik the Red or Leif Erikson (quote by me, from the debate (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=90756&page=1&pp=20) ): Erik the Red was an idiot. I can't remember which of them it was).
gotcha! sounds good to me. are there any new gfx for Knud or should I just use the existing gfx?
the ancient advisor screen has a tech that hangs out to the side(top left)
You are playing the wrong version. The correct biq has been specified 2 or 3 times already.
so We are only supposed to be playing powerhouse.bic?
Because thats the mod that you signed up to test. :wallbash:
If so, why do you put all the others in?
I origionally wasnt but I decided to include them so that you could see what has been changed prior to Power House (Power House is really v1.4 of Realism).
GO HERE (http://66.227.8.82/~civguy/realism/details.htm) to see the list of changes (absolutely everything) prior to Power House.
Anarki Mar 24, 2005, 08:46 AM Error message was: File not found
"art\civilopedia\Icons\onepointfourmercs.pcx"
and urm... There might be a backslash between the four and merc but I can't read my writing properly so yeah, I'm sure you'll figure it out.

got it! I'll write it down. The reason for the error is (if your spelling is correct) is that I made a typo in the PediaIcons.txt. If your spelling is wrong and their is a / then you either didnt download the fix (earlier post :wallbash: ) or the game is case sensitive.
Anarki Mar 24, 2005, 09:02 AM Oh right yeah, dunno how I missed that.
JG99_Korab Mar 24, 2005, 09:23 AM cool, thanks
Anarki Mar 24, 2005, 09:25 AM OK... More stuff...
1. There are Two Modern Cavalry
2. Clicked on Germany, played as Korea
3. Korea had no Palace Guards
JuuL Mar 24, 2005, 12:58 PM :wallbash:
I know how you feel. Modding (and posting and testing) can be very frustrating. to help you, I'm going to tell Anarki that you already explained why there are two kinds of Modern Cavalry.
Seth the Dark Mar 24, 2005, 03:08 PM I'm not sure where you want the results of the Beta Test but here they are:
JuuL Mar 24, 2005, 04:35 PM I almost forgot: the Ragnar graphics are good anough for Knud the Great. But if you could use the Middle Age graphics for both the Ancient and the Middle Ages that would be better. The ancient graphics are a bit strange.
LAW_FREAK Mar 24, 2005, 04:53 PM You are playing the wrong version. The correct biq has been specified 2 or 3 times already.
Missed that sorry.
ps. Put that in the first post:)

THANK YOU! I was just about to start ranting! haha

that is crazy! I have no idea why it is doing that to you. It turns out that I wont be able to test tonight. I am a Catholic so this week is particularly important and busy. Hopefully tomorow I can afford a late night and get some work done.
I'm not sure where you want the results of the Beta Test but here they are:
Thats fine.

Sure thing!
Put that in the first post:)
I thought you guys would be reading the posts you hadnt read instead of rereading ones that you had. I didnt put it in the first post because I considered it a waste of time. I didnt think you would be rereading old posts.
the100thballoon Mar 25, 2005, 10:30 AM As soon as I fix all the problems that you folks are having, I am going to start a new thread in the Creation & Customization forum. I will hold some polls for the inclusion/exclusion of some aspects of the mod. I will also be holding another beta test after these polls. Would any of you like to be a part of the second beta test? You will get a longer amount of time to test and those who tested the first beta will get first priority as far as downloading, support, and suggestions.
PM me or post in this thread. If I get no response in either way by tonight at 9:00(21:00) I will pm you the above message.
the100thballoon Mar 25, 2005, 10:31 AM oh ya! Do any of you have any ideas about what to decide via polls?
JuuL Mar 25, 2005, 11:24 AM I would like to test again.
What to decide via polls: The changing of leader names.
the100thballoon Mar 25, 2005, 12:25 PM I was also thinking of having polls about:
MISC
Incense or no incense requirement?
"Wall" units (pretty cool idea)?
"City" units to force players/AI to "conquer" the peoples they use as mercenaries?
Heroic Epic AND Epic of Gilgamesh -or- Epic of Gil INSTEAD OF Heroic Epic?
Implementation of "lumber"?
Reduce strength of Privateer or leave it?
Leave road movement bonus alone or decrease by 1?
Guerrillas a possible barb unit or not?
Sumeria or new NA civilization?
Ottomans moved east or same spot?
Netherlands or new African civ?
Remove the ironclads tech?
Remove the ironclad unit?
LEADERS
Cleopatra or Ramses II?
Catherine or Lenin?
Elizabeth or Churchill?
Joan or Napoleon?
Lincolin or FDR?
Achilles or Pericles?
Abu Bakr or Muhummad?
Theodora or Justinian?
Seth the Dark Mar 25, 2005, 01:51 PM Get rid of one or two Mid East civs and Netherlands and put in an African civ or two and maybe another New world civ.
the100thballoon Mar 25, 2005, 02:19 PM Get rid of one or two Mid East civs and Netherlands and put in an African civ or two and maybe another New world civ.
I will almost definately remove Sumeria and the Netherlands but I will let the civfanatics decide their fate.
Bluemofia Mar 25, 2005, 04:47 PM I don't think a wall unit would be benificial, because the AI won't use it.

right, I was considering making a "human" version of my mod in addition to the normal version and random map version.
the100thballoon Mar 25, 2005, 08:02 PM EDIT: Oops! Double post...
