View Full Version : Sony got pwned in Immersion rumble feature lawsuit. Dr. Yoshi Mar 28, 2005, 06:52 PM http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/03/28/news_6121137.html :wow: I wonder how long the PS2 will be off the market... Cedric Greene Mar 28, 2005, 09:59 PM It seems not at all Sony immediately appealed the decision and has been granted a stay of permanent injunction, allowing Sony to sell its products as normal during the appeals process. However, Sony will have to pay a licensing fee to Immersion for the duration of the stay. Which is too bad, any reason to get this piece of crap a workover would have been good. Can't believe Namco is making Soul Calibur 3 PS2 exclusive... Moff Jerjerrod Mar 28, 2005, 10:08 PM This news is very alarming!!! Silverflame Mar 29, 2005, 12:31 AM Which is too bad, any reason to get this piece of crap a workover would have been good. Can't believe Namco is making Soul Calibur 3 PS2 exclusive... Blackmail. There's no other reason for Namco to do so, considering the Gamecube version of Soul Calibur II sold the best out of all three systems. Although if you look at the press release, there's the possibility of the PS2 having exclusivity for a few months before it hits the other systems. I actually don't care too much, as I was severely disappointed by Soul Calibur 2. But I think that's just because I'm not one for fighters in general. Not including SSBM, of course. Thrawn Mar 29, 2005, 02:58 AM That's sometimes all exclusive means. "Exclusive on this system! For a few months. Until we release it on other systems." Silverflame Mar 29, 2005, 05:23 AM Yes, that happened with the Capcom 5. A few years back, Capcom announced five games to be exclusive on the Gamecube... P.N. 03: The only one still exclusive to the GCN, but it sucks. Viewtiful Joe: Ported to PS2 half a year after the GCN release. Killer 7: Multiplatform release for both GCN and PS2 in June. Dead Pheonix: Dead. None of this mattered so long as Resident Evil 4 remained exclusive to the Gamecube. Director Shinji Mikami claimed he'd cut his head off before Resi 4 went multiplatform. Then Capcom stupidly announced it to be ported to the PS2, cutting GCN sales of the game. I doubt the PS2 will be able to run it, anyways. Mikami kept his word and left Capcom for Clover Studios, which Capcom claims is a subdivision of Capcom, but I severely doubt so. Mikami really deserves respect for that. |
