A single turn play session has been requested by the Director of Commerce, for the purpose of completing the current turn, finishing Philosophy, and obtaining our free tech.

The results of the discussion on the subject of the free tech, now that the Dutch have Map Making, resulted in two paths to follow.

After learning Philosophy, use the big picture, go to F4 and check if Code of Laws is available for purchase. If it is, trade for it and obtain Republic as the free tech. This branch is an extremely remote possibility
If CoL is not available, then go back to science via F6 and choose Construction as the free tech. Just in case, I will prepopulate the list with Construction before hitting F4

This play session will only occur if there is no significant opposition, otherwise if there is opposition the discussion will be allowed to take its natural course before trying to schedule the special session again, or failing that it will just be the 1st turn of the next regular play session.

The tentative schedule for this session is 10:30 PM MST Thursday 3/31 (tomorrow).

Any objections may be posted here. Discussion should be directed to the discussion thread on this topic. (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=115595)

No objections, but what is 10:30 PM MST in GMT?

MST = GMT-7? so that would make it 05:30 GMT the next day?

Correct, MST is GMT-7, and Arizona stays that way year round unlike most other places. We have plenty of daylight and don't need to save any. :D

I'm afraid I must object to the single turn play session.

I'm sorry, but the way the game is set at the moment jeopordises the entire policy set out by the External Consulate.

I would ask that the next turnchat be delayed for a short while to enable some discussion on the issues that arise from the current save.

Thanks.

I would like to see this single turn session. This will make resource and technology policy easier to get across. I really can't do much until that darn tech is discovered.

You can see the turn session RegentMan. But please.... not yet. Let's just take a step back for 24hrs or so.

I wouldn't ask if I didn't think it was really important, and I think it is. :)

Thanks, DS, for setting this up. I'd add that we can reduce the science rate quite a bit this turn, as we've only one turn of research left. Don't forget to do so. :)

That said, I agree with Consul mad-bax is light of his concerns - I think it would be fine to hold off this session for a bit.

I third the request to hold off on this.

Well I gather this didn't go ahead?

Good job some of the people who can open the save and see the situation raised the points and requested the delay.

ainwood is beta testing a new civassist that will let you look at saves in great detail including the map. I hope he releases it soon. It should be at least as good as looking at the save.

I have been awaiting the new version of CivAssist for a while now, I've heard good reports. Although I might even get the time to patch of course....

Yes, it was cancelled. The single turn session would only have gone ahead if there had been no objection. Guess I should have confirmed it earlier.
