(from now on assume cp is city/plannig)

What should we produce first in our capital?
This was harder than you think, i dont know what techs we will get in the begining (if any) so bear with me. I dont think there will be a real contest but for traditon's sake...

Edit: acch! corn, replace the last option with settler.

Well ,you missed horsemen aswhel ,but you did a fine job anyway ,corn will probably change it a bit, better change it with the wonder ,obviously not something we wanna build first .:)

Thank you Spy :goodjob:

my suggestion: build a lot of wariors in the beginning ,both to control unhappines in our city's ,having good exploring unit's at a cheep cost and fastly availabilety.

can anybody think of a comman buildorder for city's in the beginning ,kinda like a defealt planning for a queue if a citty is just created ,alway's firs builthing that ,then something else ,then yet something else.
I guess you get the picture.not a poll here ,just a discussion around it.

What we build first depends on a lot of factors, and I'm leaning toward not voting until seeing what resources and techs we have to work with.

If our city has high production, then we should go for the strongest defense available. If we have high growth, then we might want to go for a settler first. It really depends on what we have once the game starts.

Well, isn't it goverment (of that city) who decides this?

No...tomorrow we should delete this thread and start a new one with a picture.

I mean...we already have over 10 votes, and we have no idea what's possible yet.

Since we got the Horse tech, a horse should be first, followed by a Phalanx than a settler.

It is important to explore as quickly as possible, and it is unlikely that any civ is nearby, or that barbs will appear right away.

Warrior can be substitued for the Phalanx, and get that Horse quick!

While I don't question the wisdom of building a horseman first, I would like to point out that having 3 free techs might indicate that we DO have close neighbors. Much will depend on the contents of the hut if we get it.

I concur with AoA. Build the Horseman first, then the Phalanx, then the Settler. Depending on where we settle, we should have enough resources that this won't take long at all.

Well, we already have a horse now, so how about phalanx phalanx settler?

We will have good defense should an enemy be nearby.

No, another Horseman, then settler.
When horsemans are moving along only directions, they also explore that
there's no nasty critters nearby, and we can build settler.
Just have to hope that no Barbs.
After that, we should build Phalanx and Archer (if possible)
