View Full Version : Empire Eath II demo
rbis4rbb Apr 05, 2005, 08:30 PM Wow, first of all, the graphics are terrible in the demo. It looks like a game released 2 or 3 years ago. The cursor is a bit wobbily as well. It reminds me of Empires: Dawn of the modern world. I give it a C-. If mthis were the final product, I wouldn't buy it.
homeyg Apr 05, 2005, 10:13 PM Yeah, I looked at the demo for like 5 minutes and then I exited the program. To me it looked like a copy of Rise of Nations.

But with worse graphics. They really dropped the ball. It looks like Empires: Dawn of the Modern World

I have both, and Rise of Nations and Empires have way different graphics!
I am getting the game. Great memories with the original Empire Earth. Resurrection of the ££ Royals!
But the original was fun. It was back in the day we didn't really care about graphics, just gameplay.
Dabomb18359 Apr 07, 2005, 05:57 PM What's wrong with Rise of Nations graphics?
I had/have like 3 demo discs of that game from various sources but my only main complaint about the demo was that you couldn't save. I looked everywhere and it wasn't anywhere. Is the game very good for those of you that have it?

RoN? or EE????
homeyg Apr 07, 2005, 09:24 PM RON has decent graphics (in fact, I might play another game of RON right now ;) ).
rbis4rbb Apr 10, 2005, 09:22 PM RON has decent graphics (in fact, I might play another game of RON right now ;) ).
I lost my Cd key (for real, I have the T&P key, but not the RoN key )
Dreadnought Apr 12, 2005, 05:24 AM Come on, RoN doesn't have good graphics! Then again, my friend's computer may skrew the graphics up.
Lonkut Apr 12, 2005, 07:59 PM What are u talking about RONs graphics are awsome. Down of modern world's graphics aren't that bad they are pretty good. With EE demo I had problems with cursor, it was kind of lazy but graphix were pretty good. But besides this IS the demo.
Dreadnought Apr 13, 2005, 03:16 PM I told you my friends comp is skrewed, it looks like AoE 1 graphics! :(
I am still getting it. IT IS THE DEMO! Do you think they would have the best stuff in the DEMO?????
rbis4rbb Apr 24, 2005, 08:14 PM I heard it as good, it got a 94 in PCGamer. I'll probably buy it
Dreadnought Apr 25, 2005, 04:37 AM What? EE2 or RoN?
puglover Apr 25, 2005, 11:39 AM Yeah, I looked at the demo for like 5 minutes and then I exited the program. To me it looked like a copy of Rise of Nations.
Exactly. So many elements were taken from Rise of Nations. But the game fails in the places it did not copy. The graphics are awful, the new concepts unfunctional.
I played for about ten minutes and hated it.
Sierra screwed up.
rbis4rbb Apr 25, 2005, 09:54 PM I'll try it again. Maybe I need a better system to see these "breathtaking graphics" some reviewers talked about

I think only the most modern computers can run that game on its max settings
puglover Apr 26, 2005, 12:28 PM DEMO its not the real thing...
But I got most of the real thing, and a pretty accurate impression.
LLXerxes May 02, 2005, 07:27 AM Graphics aren't everything. Lemme go try the demo.
ForbiddenPalace May 04, 2005, 05:20 PM I have tried out the demo for EE2, and only found couple of new features superior than RoN. But consider this is only the demo, the real game should offer a lot more. The graphics are a little bit bettern than RoN, and much better than EE, but nowhere close to the screenshots of AoEIII.

How large is the Demo?
