We have no leader, no hierarchy, no agenda, no ploy to grab power (we aren't even running for office!), no political mouthpiece, no secret hideout, no secret army, no newspaper, no underground cell, no CNN etc. Join us now and your name shalt be enrolled in our sacred Guildsmen list!

...and then the fellowship of watchers became 2, so it is written in the book of 'Forums' where the league of watchers united and smiled upon the doings of the democracy.
Be ever watchful!!
May the watch be with you!!!

Pggar Dec 10, 2001, 08:48 AM Count me in as a Watcher :scan:. I guess if I want to become eligible, I'll just have to post here again to have my name taken from the list. Is that right?
Knight-Dragon Dec 10, 2001, 11:27 AM I'll maintain the Guild list by editing the list in the first post in this thread. Feel free to come and go as you pls. This list is just so to let everyone know who's not interested or can't hold an electoral office. And who's is Watching them. :p
H Tower Dec 10, 2001, 11:21 PM you could make the watchers the historians... :mutant:

you could make the watchers the historians... :mutant: No, no, that's the job of the VP cum CIO I think. Or the Court Historian. The Watchers are a citizens vigilante group to watch over and guard our almighty United Fanatica Empire against all threats, external or internal! :)
PS - Watchers can be historians if they really want to be, I supposed. Volunteers, my fellow Watchers?
jomey Dec 11, 2001, 06:17 AM I watch and watch,
If I was to write then I would be watching myself and that just wouldn't make sense would it!!:mutant: ;)
jiml_63 Dec 11, 2001, 07:50 AM I would like to join the society of watchers, for it is our noble cause to observe our great civilization as it maintains it's proper course.

I think I'm to lazy to do that. knight, I think you should add a rights section to your first post.
Rights:
1) If you're a member of the Watchers Guild, you are allowed to use this smiley :scan: in your signature.

As if we can stop anyone fr doing so ........ :) but a good suggestion nevertheless. :goodjob: Let's keep those suggestions coming and turn the Watchers into the most feared eh ... well-respected citizens group in our nation.
King of England Dec 11, 2001, 09:32 PM Ooh ooh can I join? I don't really have the experience to hold office but I can be a really good vigilante...:D

I guess no secret army doesn't refer to the War Church;)
ps Knight-Dragon...
4) And visit our wrath on all evil wrongdoers!
How do we do this???
Knight-Dragon Dec 20, 2001, 08:09 AM I guess no secret army doesn't refer to the War Church;)Like I always said, consistency is the sign of a small mind. ;)

Pellaken Dec 23, 2001, 11:40 AM sigh...
well, I dont have the time commitments to be in most elected offices, so thats out of the question. My original plan was to start a political party, and to run things from there, but since THATS even illigal... I guess I have nothing to do but watch... so I am officially joinin up.
:scan:
joespaniel Dec 23, 2001, 01:00 PM Hmm, I think I want to be the War Minister, so I cant just sit back and watch. ;)

Hmm, I think I want to be the War Minister, so I cant just sit back and watch. ;) Just to remind you, a term is for an entire realtime month and everyday you shld be coming here to make polls, collect results and report to the Prez. Does that sound like fun to you? :) More like work ....
But first, you need to get elected. I have read that there would be campaigning, debates and stuff like that betw nomination day until election day. More work ....
Now if you join us Watchers :scan:, life is simple and fun. You don't need to do anything. You can sit back and Watch the empire and make a lot of wise comments or seemingly wise comments. You get a nice title (Watcher) and insigna (:scan: ).
Join us. :D You won't regret it. :) I think. :p

Mwahahahaha! :p Knight-Dragon? My puppet? Keep up the good work my pretties! :D
King of England Dec 24, 2001, 02:19 PM Pellaken, that's what we Watchers are supposed to do.
And I quote:
"1) We shalt watch the office-holders, the state, the military, each other and everything else."
"4) And visit our wrath on all evil wrongdoers!"
I interpreted that as being concerned with the state, how it will be run, etc.
Basically the Watchers wanna run things without having to concern themselves with administrative manners. :D

Basically the Watchers wanna run things without having to concern themselves with administrative manners. :D Ditto. And we don't need to get elected too. :D But we aren't actually running things ..... Just providing a perspective fr a certain point.

Besides, if this is a conspiracy, what are you going to do? We can't run for office ..... And you join the Watchers after you have founded the Peaceniks.
Worriers??? I'll worry you, you Peacenik! Is that the best you can do - name-calling? :p

King of England Dec 25, 2001, 12:20 AM KD, is CoH the "Higher Authority"? :)

KD, is CoH the "Higher Authority"? :) Of course not! He's just our resident pachyderm having delusions of grandeur. Best to continue feeding him with delusions of grandeur; otherwise he'll trample us all to death using his eh... bulk. :p
Knight-Dragon Dec 25, 2001, 05:59 AM I now call for a motion to expel Mr Pellaken fr our fellowship and bar him fr ever returning for he's hinted at running for a governorship (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=144388&t=71#post144388) of one of the provinces, despite joining the Watchers on the same day.
I find his motive for joining us questionable and designed.
If my fellow Watchers agree with the motion, pls post here. Once we have a majority (3 out of 5), we shall expel him. :hammer:
Of course, I say yah.
King of England Dec 25, 2001, 06:09 PM Aye.
Pellaken Dec 25, 2001, 06:10 PM I resign. I was high on pot at the time (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12789) and therefore cant be held responsible for my actions...
right?
I sure hope so, or Duck's gonna be pretty mad next time he sits on his throne... he he he
Pellaken Dec 25, 2001, 06:12 PM oh, my vote, right.
AYE!
3 of 5 now :) he he he
this is fun, all the voting... and... uh..., well the voting is fun anyways
jiml_63 Dec 26, 2001, 05:18 AM Run him out on a rail....
Knight-Dragon Dec 26, 2001, 06:42 AM Resigned or expelled, you're out of the Watchers Guild, Pellaken. ;)
Pggar Dec 26, 2001, 09:13 AM Sorry I couldn't vote. Now that I'm back, I say:
Aye, to the kicking/expelling suggestion. :D
For it is my duty to watch :scan: and expel. http://community.theunderdogs.org/smiley/armed/dark2.gif
Knight-Dragon Dec 26, 2001, 10:09 AM This is one disturbing citizen we'll need to Watch very carefully. He'll be the death of us all, one day.

Just another ordinary working day in the UFE.
jomey Jan 02, 2002, 03:51 AM Can't you tell I've missed loads in a week.[party] .
The very fact that even Pellaken voted himself out says it all.
Feed him and the rest of his kind to the lions I say.
Let all who covet governorship and similar titles be gathered up in a field and .... :ninja: :slay: :slay: :rocket2:
 It just makes my blood boil  Where are those pesky AIs so that we can let loose all this pent up frustration
Whiskey Priest Jan 02, 2002, 06:52 PM A society dedicated to passive (most of the time) observation... Brilliant! I too would like to pledge my loyalty to the Watchers Guild. I would be honoured if I could grace my signature with the noble mark of the Watchers Guild :scan:. Even though my name is not yet on the registry (CornMaster has approved me though).

Knight-Dragon Feb 26, 2002, 11:10 PM We're on a recruitment drive for the even more ancient Watchers Guild. :) Pls post here if interested.
Pls read the first post for more info and Guild rules; namely no political offices.
The Brutallion Jun 09, 2002, 07:14 AM You guys are cool. Can I join? I am very un political, but like my hero, Demo Dick Marcinko, the roughest toughest *rse kickenest Seal that ever was, I like to hit people for very little reason, or at least just stir up trouble
Zwelgje Jun 09, 2002, 09:16 AM I think the watchers guild has more or less died now, at least I haven't seen any of them posting in the past months. So if you wanna join them you'll be the only member. ;)
Anyway, you are most welcome to follow the game and post any comments you want to make on the way we play. Any input is welcome really, as long as its constructive input. :)
The Brutallion Jun 09, 2002, 09:18 AM Drat!
thanks anyway civ1
