I'll suggest we'll play on Yellow color, because Spanish, the rulers of yellow,
got the smallest amount of votes for 7 color-winners

If in doubt....POLL IT

:scan: ;)
No seriously, I consider this to be more important than name of government/ bloodlust/etc etc.

Oh, should I post my suggestion on what we should do in 1st turn here?
Or shall there be a remote topic? I suggest: We build a city!
(and there we'll build warriors on next turn)

I see three main options.

1. Found where we are
2. Take the hut
3. Go South (2) and found there. (It has been my experience with the way that the resources are laid out that this spot is most likely to get us another resource or two within our radius.

4. Do something else. I don't see why, but we could.

I personally am for taking the hut and re-evaluating based upon its contents. A unit will be support free which is always a good thing. I have never seen barbarians kill you on turn 1. Money and or a tech will just let us know where we stand before we get started. I don't think we could even dream of getting another settler, and I've never seen a free city when you don't already have at least one.

My follow up would be then to move to the spot suggested in choice 3. Of course if we get another unit, this could change. In other words: (1),(3),(B)

After realizing again (I'm really excited about this whole DG... how did we built a city? with r letter?;))
that We would get FREE (hype, hype!) unit, I changed my mind.

So I'm with you. We would be probably cutted out of sea, but I've never liked boats, anyway

Military is in favor of taking the hut.

If it's a unit, it will be free, IE unsupported from any city, and therefore not be a burden on the people.

If it's barbarians, we can always restart the game! :crazyeyes

Too bad we don't have a river or grassland. The place does not look to be the best, but we should found a city right now. Then we have time to explore the surroundings and to get the huts. But offcourse, a free unit in the begining would be good.

As acting Science minister (The science minister has not posted for over 48 hours, so I'm assuming the position in her absence), I also suggest we take the hut, and hope for pottery, alphabet or bronze working.

Oh yeah, Ducky I, what discoveries we have?
(Right now its not important, but I'll hope that It'll be a customidity
after that to post current discoveries, or at least 10 last discoveries...

6Chan ,please post a poll on this. (our future research goal)

Uh, Ducky I, could you possibly edit those screenshot's a bit?
For example that last could
only have the 'Science ministery' pop-up? Please?

It is my experience that when the computer gives you a bunch of free tech, that there is a rival civ nearby. I am disapointed to see these techs, since I normally wait till later on these, and additional techs slow down your research. I stand by my opinion of seeing what is in the hut.

Sixchan

Err...about the poll, on all levels except chieftain, doesn't the game stop you from researching cetain techs after you discover another? what if the poll comes out, and we can't research that tech?

message from the expansion leader:

beep bee beept beeep....

i recommend that we first take the hut and then build other capital in the huts position A or, first take the hut and then go to B and hope for an extra resource.

knowltok
Dec 10, 2001, 03:16 PM
As state previously, I am in favor of B. A unit from the hut could change this, but I believe that B is our best spot.

I like site B, that way we might get some grassland or hills too, as well as having both specials

Judge Dredd
Dec 10, 2001, 03:41 PM
After first looking at this screen I thought that the best place would be A. But now looking at it again, I can see that B is the best place. We lose the definite sea port city. but we possibly could be looking at a shielded grassland South of us. If that is the case we will have a very good Capital to start. If not, we still have use of both resources currently there. Now to figure a way to change my vote in "after goody hut poll".

Maybe we will be lucky, and have a map like this:

Judge Dredd
Dec 10, 2001, 04:06 PM
If that were to happen I think we would have the best placement we could possibly hope for, I have a feeling that it will be a lake (hope I am wrong) , but that will give us the ability to build a harbor later, and still get some food bonus. It is worth the risk in my opinion.:D

Since the Hut poll was obviously going one-sided ,i made the diccision to ram the blloody settler into the hut ;)

Settler has 0 movement points ,horseman has 2 :)

This means work for the exploration dep. .(post a poll of where horseman goes.

Take the hut and see what happens - if we get a mercenary it can show us a bit more of the map. Then we make another decision based on what we know.

Edit: as usual andycapp's timing is impecable - good work Prez! :goodjob:

I say down (2) then probably downright (3). To me the first move is a given. This will show the most map and uncover one of the spots that could hold another resource. After that, I say we give it to Duck to decide the second part of the move. It will take forever if we have to vote on each part of a units' move. I know the begining is critical, but I think we can trust the Duck to do a good job.

I suggest the horsemen moves one space due south and the we make another decision. This humble citizens's reasoning is that we should explore the area nearest the Settler to determine the possibility of founding a city ASAP.

After moving as suggested we then evaluate our new knowledge of the terrain and decide on the horsemens final move.

i say due south, and then its should be up to the pres's decision, we want to keep things moving. Make us proud Ducky I!:goodjob:
