View Full Version : Gnome Engineer? (Unit Request)
tjedge1 Apr 20, 2005, 06:31 AM I was wondering if any of you unit makers could do a gnome engineer. Below is a pic of some gnomes to get an idea. I want it to be an advanced fantasy worker type, so he would need all the anime for worker jobs. Of course, chopping jungle and forest can be the same I don't care.
As a 2nd request, if this unit is made, could a hobgobln or orc type unit be cut into the unit to make a slave version for evil type civs?
Scytale Apr 20, 2005, 06:37 AM Great request!! I second it.
tjedge1 Apr 20, 2005, 05:30 PM :bump: Do I need to post more info? Come on, this would be great for every fantasy mod. See you have your standard worker, but in fantasy mods, they can't build roadas in mountains, at least not in mine. Then you get a gnome engineer in the later stages that not only does the everyday jobs faster, they can build roads in mountains. Please somebody seriously consider this.
Raw is War? Apr 20, 2005, 06:44 PM I want to see a Gnome Engineer made too! :D

Kinboat Apr 21, 2005, 02:45 PM Curse you... Curse you and the horse you rode in on... That picture is just too good to resist. Now I'm going to have to find time for a gnomish engineer.

Way to go TJEdge! You hooked him :D
tjedge1 Apr 22, 2005, 05:47 AM Thank you, Thank you Kinboat. I'm sorry about putting such a great picture up, but it seems worth it since I got one the best unit makers I know of to make it. Thank you again Kinboat. I'm glad you like the picture by the way. If you want a copy of it, the original is much bigger. I resized it down to fit on the page better.
Kinboat Apr 22, 2005, 03:35 PM Any idea who did it and are there others? A link to a site or an artists name I can look up would be fine, or even what book it's from. But this size is fine... What about a whole gaggle of bumbling Gnomes instead of just one worker... I'm actually thinking more the Dragonlance view of gnomes as crazy machinists with unintentionally distructive devices more than the Forgotten Realms vison... Although a little bit of the feeling was there in Mystara and Forgotten Realms (I still have a copy of an old D&D book with all kinds of odd magical and mechanical works, and I can't for the life of me remember the name of it... There was a Gnomish Submersible in there with lots of open windows and doorways... But instead of sealing them up they used a spell to allow the crew to breath underwater.) Although if you'd rather have a more serious Gnome working on the road crew let me know.
tjedge1 Apr 22, 2005, 04:15 PM No actually, I do prefer the DragonLance types myself, I always thought they were more entertaining. I always portrayed the gnomes of Mystara to be more like gnomes of DragonLance anyway, when I used to DM. If you want to go with a gaggle of gnomes, that would be amazing. I'll try and find out where I got this pic. Somewhere on the internet.
I was also wondering about the slave version. Is that a possibility? Something for the evil guys.
