Obviously the design put far too much food on the map in this one, as the Jason scores were fairly high! We had 14 players scoring in excess of 11,000 Jason points, and 38 scoring more than 10,000.

With such high scores, you'd think the top of the leaderboard would be fairly congested, and it was.

The Gold medal was secured by klarius, with a 440 AD Domination victory, with 11,904 point. A mere 29 points back, SirPleb aborted his milk-run and claimed silver with a 760 AD conquest victory. In third was Ronald; an agonizing 3 points behind SirPleb, but at least he got the fastest conquest award with his win in 530 AD.

One more on my belt. List of shields:

http://gotm.civfanatics.net/players/awards/greenshield.gif - GOTM 32
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/players/awards/oliveshield.gif - GOTM 38
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/players/awards/blueshield.gif - GOTM 40
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/players/awards/burgundyshield.gif - GOTM 41

This just leaves Diplo and 20k, and I think I got one of them in GOTM 42(which has already been submitted). I'm probably NOT going to be able to get the missing one on Diety (43), and will probably wait for the difficulty curve to bring about another Emperor game (44) or maybe wait for the next Monarch or Regent (45/46) and do a OCC, which will almost definitely fetch a low score.

Congrats to everyone else, too. Those are some really close scores.

How do you know GotM43 will be Deity? :dubious:

The last year and a half worth of games(possibly farther) have followed a loop: Regent, Monarch, Emperor, Diety, Emperor, Monarch, and then back to the beginning again.

Also, it looks like gervond is collecting shields as well. I might actually have to compete this time around.

This time, my special congratulations are going to SirPleb.
He was not able to finish his milking run and has to abort his game, yet he received silver :wow:
Also he gave an opportunity for several people to be proud of finishing this game before SirPleb :mischief:
Another amusement is my own result. I played Ancient Age Conquest two times, in this game and in COTM5. Both times I scored over 11K (only twice), I thought: what a coincident!
But when I realized that in both cases I got 13th  place, I just do not know how to comment that. Should I convert to something :jesus: ?

Wow! My 9227 only got me 54th place! (Nearly in the bottom half; I might have to switch to conquest  ) I feel I've also learned a bit about 100K in getting 2nd fastest ... although it is a very distant 2nd from Bremp's submittal! :goodjob: Congrats to all submitters; the competition is quite fierce!

 Woohoo, my first award!
And my first time over 10k as well, and it only avails to a 32nd place... not that I'm complaining, it was still enough to get me into the top 50 on the GPR, with only four games submitted. :D

Congratulations to most everyone, quite a few victories submitted in this game. :)

Little Mistake here... no matter.

Apr 21, 2005, 08:35 AM release date of the thread (third post) - how can you let us wait all these days before making it public? You guys are getting more and more sadistic, aren't you? :crazyeye:

My first 10k finish - and I can share it with so many others :mischief:
Who hinted Sir Pleb to submit his "broken game"?!? :wallbash:

Anyway: Congrats to all contenders. :goodjob:

By the way:
Following that link:

>>See the full results here. (http://gotm.civfanatics.net/results/index.php)
I come to result page preselected offering results from a game "C3C BONUS 01" - What contest was that?!?
From the sorting of the list I guess it must have been some special game between Gotm37 and Cotm07, but I did not find any spoilers and other threads.

Only 18 turns (and spots) after klarius. Makes me feel alright about this game where I got almost the crappiest start imaginable. Not that I would blame it on bad luck. If a person who irrigates and roads a plain plain tile when there are furs to irrigate got a better position than 18, then this competition wouldn't be what it is.

Congratulations to all who did better.

C3C Bonus 01 was a quick game to try out the Austrians and their Hussars before the main COTM 07 game. The announcement thread is here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=105840) and the spoiler is here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=106011).

The results page defaulted to displaying the game with the highest serial number. I've now changed it to default to the game with the most recent finish date. I'll try to persuade Ainwood to include the game number in the URL in future when he posts links to the results.

Not intentionally! I created the thread in the staff forum, was waiting to confirm a bit of paperwork, then went on holiday. Moved it over when I got back.

I'll try to persuade Ainwood to include the game number in the URL in future when he posts links to the results. I know, I know...

WOW! :wow:
I didn't think someone could win so fast. Congrats to all!
(expecially to the winners)
I'm #36 in the scoreboard with a game full of errors. Not bad for the 1st time, but even if i played my best i don't think i could have reached the level of excellence of the top ten players.
(not counting that many of them play the Predator class)

Another shield for Xerol

Ok, guyz, i'm not doomed. Game 42 is on the wild. Let's see if you can beat me with my favourite civ...
(do you really think you can beat SirPleb et al. ?!? )

Challenging the best players around is the best way to improve oneself.
(you'll be improving for a long time, baby...)

congratulations team mate Klarius for beating all. :goodjob:

Ronald's date is most impressive imo, too bad you couldn't get a little better score out of it for gold Ronald.

And Sirpleb, wel it's not like we expect any less from you :p (A second place for sirpleb? makes Klarius first place look even better :D)

You keep in mind that Sir Pleb was running out of time for a different victory condition and nearly missed "the shortcut" to domination victory... :mischief:

Now that is similar to my mistake going for 100k and violating domination limit by accident with just 20k achieved - on a completely different level though

That's what I like about Gotm - you'll always find a category to compare to the best... :D

I'm glad I made that mistake, it saved me from several hours of milking my score down... :crazyeye:

It was me. It seems he can't (maybe?) play cotm11, and I didn't want him to lose rank to a silly thing like real life :mischief: .

[QUOTE=ainwood]http://gotm.civfanatics.net/players/awards/oliveshield.gif Grogs: 1840 AD Cultural 20k Victory, 6,525 points.

EDIT: Now list in the beginning of this thread is corrected to show my "rightfully earned" but nevertheless FIRST award in GOTM - lowest scoring 20k victory, 5600 points.

Sorry, Grogs :) , there happened to be someone not as Civ-proficient as you are.
