With the kind agreement of XIII, I advertised the start of this competition on this forum a couple of months ago. I'm now pleased to announce that the four entries into the article competition are now available.

In order of their author's last name, the four articles are:

The War Comes to Berlin by Herb (T71Herb) www.historic-battles.com/Articles/Article_Comp_2005_1stQuarter/berlin_herb.htm

Beg, Borrow, Steal: A story of how Israel first armed itself by Neil Holmes (privatehudson) www.historic-battles.com/Articles/Article_Comp_2005_1stQuarter/israel_privatehudson.htm

From Hegemon to Honey Jar. The Varna Crusade and the fate of Wladyslaw III "Warnenczyk" by T. Jankowski (Vrylakas) www.historic-battles.com/Articles/Article_Comp_2005_1stQuarter/varna_vrylakas.htm

Revolution and Aftermath: Central Europe 1830-1860 by David Kudzia (CZ) www.historic-battles.com/Articles/Article_Comp_2005_1stQuarter/revolutions_CZ.htm

I strongly encourage you to read all four of these excellent articles, and voting will commence in a few days. Please note that voting will only be open to members of the historic-battles forum, so you'll need to register (which only takes a few seconds) if you want to have your say :) .

Indeed, they're all very good except that one about the middle east, blooming awful spelling and grammar I'd say ;)

The voting period has just opened. Voting will be open for the next 7 days, so there's plenty of time to read all the articles. When you've picked your favorite, go to www.historic-battles.com/forum/index.php?topic=5371.0 and cast your vote!

I think you have to reigster at the forums to be able to see it. I can so it can't be a problem with the post

Cant see the vote option?

You need to be a member of the forums to vote (though non-registered guests are welcome to post on the forum). Registration is free and only takes a few seconds.

When I log off the forums the voting option disapears and when I log back on it appears, so everything seems to be working fine.

No, I think that's just to show that it's a "hidden ballot" or in other words the results won't be visible until the voting has ended.

Well what with time constrictions and problems in RL I really just cobbled together two from here to submit. It was fun reading the others though, much better ones :)

As is noted above, the competition was won by Vrylakas. All the four articles submitted were excellent, and I would encourage everyone to read them.
