The Saudi Arabian ambassador to the US and George Bush were having lunch at the White House. The ambassador wanted to know something

"I am a great fan of your Star Trek, " he said " but there is one thing I am quite curious about. The ships crew has a Vulcan, a Russian a Japanese, a Scot and a black girl. Yet there are no Arabs. Why is this?"

George Bush laughed and replied "that's because it's set in the future !"

Ouch. I know a few people at work that are going to love that one.

I heard that one just after the coalition invaded Afghanistan, except it was simply:
Saddam: "Why are there no Muslims in Star Trek?"
GWB: "Cos it's set in the future."

Siddig el Fadil.
Of course, they chickened out later...and he suddenly called himself Alexander Siddig in the credits ;).
Of course, he was only born in Sudan, and spent most of his life in England before DS9.
But that name switch is simply incredibly silly.

Of course the Federation is a socialist society so there aren't any Republicans in the future either :D

Not nearly as silly as this (questionable) joke...
