I count on the other depatment's that they know what to do know ,as this must really become standard procedure's.
Horseman & settler havn't moved yet.
animepornstar Dec 11, 2001, 09:17 AM i posted a poll about thehorsemanīs options here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11794
Sixchan Dec 11, 2001, 12:25 PM Please vote on our research goal!
Sadly, this has been messed up due to the rule change emergency, and will close around 0:00GMT tonght, 2 days earlier than needed.

TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 11, 2001, 05:01 PM Okay ,i ended the previous turn ,and took action's on ground of the result's of the poll's.
bsicly ,the pony and settler are on the same location now.The settler will settle there the next turn ,that is already a fact.

animepornstar Dec 12, 2001, 10:00 AM i have posted a poll about the horsemanīs moves for the next five turns here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11893
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 12, 2001, 05:13 PM Ok.
to make this game run a bit faster ,i have played 5 turn's at once ,in this reply and the reply's under ai are the screenshot's i take during that 5 turns.
screenshot 1:
i moved the pony to the left ,and discoverd a goody hut.you can't see the horsy (just a bit yellow where it is) ,but i guess it's pretty logical where it stands.
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 12, 2001, 05:14 PM Screenshot 2:
i rammed the pony through the hut ,and out came an archer :D
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 12, 2001, 05:18 PM screenshot 3:
the science possibilety's after settling the first city.
i took alphabet
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 12, 2001, 05:19 PM screenshot 4:
The location's of archer and horsy at the end of turn 5 today.i moved them according the recomendation's in the explore thread.
1 east and 1 south.
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 12, 2001, 05:22 PM screenshot 5:
the city of Olympia (name chosen by TF) at 3700bc.
i let the city use the walles ,it was logical IMO.
The building of the phalanx was democraticly elected.
Sixchan Dec 12, 2001, 06:01 PM If the Science Minister hasn't posted a poll by 17:00GMT tomorrow, I will. BTW, if you put the time the poll is open as 1.5 days, will it work?
Sixchan Dec 12, 2001, 06:36 PM Bing Bong: This is a Science Ministry Announcement
This is a first call to all voters to visit the new poll on what to research next. This poll is now voting at Gate What next? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11941)
Thank you.
Bing Bong :crazyeyes
Info Officer, could you edit the poll to include the techs in the second post?
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 12, 2001, 06:52 PM An extra screenshot for my exploration advisor:
AP ,i hope this is what you wanted.
Btw. from now on i will include the map grid.
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 12, 2001, 07:19 PM Here is the extra info i provided in the mail of today:
__________________________________________________ _
I have made the following decission:
I have played 5 turns now ,wich make's the game run a lot more faster than 1 turn a day.therefore i have decided to let the new poll's derived from the situation live 2 day's.The leader's must open the poll's themselfs ,and keep in mind that after two day's i'll play five turns again.
the exploration leader must open 2 poll's for the new archer and the horseman.
The city production leader must open a poll on the next thing to build in our capital ,and a poll on the use of city recources.
The science leader must open a poll on the next goal to research.
If the thread's arn't opend after 1 day today ,I will open the threads. If members notice that polls are started way to late ,they can pm me.
Any question ,pm our mail me
__________________________________________________ __
So as for now ,polls will be open for two days but will handle the action's that have to be taken in consideration for five turn's.
this let's the game run faster ,while everybody has more time to vote. This isn't mandatory though ,i try to keep this flexible along as the situations evolve.

TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 14, 2001, 02:19 PM This were the tech i could choose after having researched Alphabeth:
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 14, 2001, 02:23 PM the situation at 3600bc:
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 14, 2001, 02:28 PM Well ,normaly i had to take settler's here as next building item ,but for some apperent reason i couldn't build settler's???
probably something wrong in my version of civ.If anybody knows what this problem can be ,please pm me.
Don't worry though.I can always reinstall my version of civIImge and load the save in to it ,and change the build queue. So no panic please.
temporarly (till my comp. problem is solved) ,build queu is set to horsy.
Alcibiaties of Athenae Dec 14, 2001, 02:31 PM Man, that spot 1 right and 1 up right is a hell of a spot for city #2, and it would be unreal for science city, 2 fishes and a wheat stalk!
Think of the trade arrows!
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 14, 2001, 02:33 PM The situation in 3450bc.
i ran over a goody hut ,and out came another horsy.
Both horsy's have moved ,archer not yet.
i know that archer is way east considering the poll's ,but i saw a goody hut ,so i went for it.
TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 14, 2001, 02:38 PM Yes i know about the horsy building that must be settler.I will surely solve that out.
mind that our city will grow to size 2 next turn.

Well based on the picture before your post, I assume you're talking about putting the city at the north end of our explored territory, out on the little cape. I think it would be better if we put it 1 left and 1 down-left from our northernmost horsy, because this would give us a hills square and two grassland-shields rather than one like the other spot, and we'd still have two fish and a wheat square.
The only downside is it's not a very efficient use of territory, giving all the good stuff to one city when it could be split between two. However, this would be our SSC, so it should have good resources.
Edit: upon seeing Ducky's post below: :o

TheDuckOfFlanders Dec 16, 2001, 04:54 PM There is no need for more than the exploration screenshot here.
The settler production is at 16/40 with a production of 3 schields/turn in Olympia. If you want i can upload a screenshot about that later.
the reason why i havn't upload a screenshot of the city is because my trial version screen shot program only allow's 30 screenshot's.
Anyway ,if somebody has a sugestion of a good screen shot capturer please pm me.
The city of Olympia is currently at size 2 ,and uses it's grain and whale's recource.I chose for the grain because a: no poll around it was held and it looked as the best decission to me.
Sodapop Dec 16, 2001, 10:29 PM A new exploration poll has been posted (by me!). The question is only for the western horseman, since the eastern one still have a lot to discover. You can vote for the itinerary in this thread :

Alcibiaties of Athenae Dec 31, 2001, 08:09 PM Normally I wouldn't post in this thread, but two important matters.
First, why hasn't the that one remaining square in Olympia not been explored? There is a horse sitting in the city, it could move south and back into the city in one turn and reveal it easily! This should be done right away, I can't understand why it hasn't been done yet!
Second, CARAVANS ARE NEEDED NOW!!!!
This is an emergancy, we are in danger of losing the Collusus, all cities should build the four caravans needed, and they should be rushed if possible! This is an emergancy situation! Also, what settlers we have should build roads to Duckpond now, so that the caravans can get there fast! Speed is critical now!
TheDuckOfFlanders Jan 02, 2002, 04:03 PM Well ,i played till 275bc this evening ,a lot has changed now.
first science change ,i took trade here.
TheDuckOfFlanders Jan 02, 2002, 04:04 PM second science pick ,i took writing.

TheDuckOfFlanders Jan 02, 2002, 04:14 PM and finaly the new city of Fort Pornstar
TheDuckOfFlanders Jan 02, 2002, 04:19 PM Some important information to this:
Since we are working at the collosus ,i played a few turn's more "un-officialy" to know when the enemy's would have almost completed the collosus.
And at 225bc i got the message that the english were almost complete with building it. (damn cheaters)
Anyway ,to my calculation ,if we rush buy the caravan at Potopolia emediatly at 250bc ,bring it to Duckpond to add to the city ,then at 225bc we would have enough production and money to buy the wonder ,and the collosus will be ours.

Sodapop Jan 04, 2002, 07:38 PM As requested by our president, poll about trireme have been opened. Those trireme will be built if you vote for this option in the future cp-polls. Option I strongly recomand as we will need expansion, and the faster the better.
I suggest you view polls in the following order (but take a look at both before voting) :
Potopolia trireme : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=152525&t=6274#post152525
Olympia trireme : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13574
And when I think those could be my last polls :(
Good voting :)
Sodapop Jan 07, 2002, 08:08 AM Spycatcher34 asked me to do the CP polling because of a lack of time :
In a Pm spycatcher34 sent me
I'm unsaly bust this week. I wont even be able to get a chance to get back on until five and even thats notlikely. Maybe you can do if you do i'll be indebted to you.
So here are the links to those poll :

I did this job to help spycatcher. But NEVER ever nominate me for city planning!!! I'm wondering how all this job can be done. That's so long! So a great :goodjob: to spycatcher who has to do this every single turn.
Good voting :)

Alcibiaties of Athenae Jan 11, 2002, 07:49 PM Will Duck please post the save so the game can move foward?
I'm sure everyone would like things to continue.
CornMaster Jan 11, 2002, 10:54 PM I tried to e-mail it...but here it is.
TheDuckOfFlanders Jan 12, 2002, 07:36 PM Will Duck please post the save so the game can move foward?
I'm sure everyone would like things to continue.
I mailed it to Corn ,i thought you had it already.Sorry about that.
Uhm ,Corn can you check who has downloaded the game.
I don't want that everybody has the possibilety to check the game in cheat mode and start spoiler talks.
H Tower Jan 12, 2002, 08:24 PM i thought we had agreed to not post the game because we didn't want spoiler talks.
Everyone who has downloaded the game, please don't spoil it for the rest of us. thanks
CornMaster Jan 12, 2002, 11:58 PM If someone spoils it...its simple.
Permenant ban from the game, and a weeks ban from the site. No Exceptions.
As soon as AoA confirms he has the game...I'll delete the attachment.
Juize Jan 13, 2002, 04:47 AM Erm, I downloaded the game.
I really don't think much when I check attachements.
I thought it was a pic of somekind.
So a stupid mistake late in night.
Just thought somebody would want to know.
Alcibiaties of Athenae Jan 13, 2002, 11:39 PM I have it, Corn, and play will resume tomorrow.
It also seems to have been DL 6 times as i write this, but when I first DLed it, I was the only one.
I will install a password, that only Corn, Myself, and any future president will know, to prevent any further tampering.
jomey Jan 14, 2002, 04:46 AM oops.. I've downloaded it and then read the rest of the thread:eek:
I couldn't open it anyway as I have FW
joespaniel Jan 14, 2002, 09:49 AM Well, that was a good idea...

Sixchan Jan 14, 2002, 10:00 AM *timidly puts up hand*
Ooo. Sorry.:(
Shouldn't all the cabinet have the game, just in case? My civ2 disc is AWOL and ToT doesn't run the saves (and I don't have time to download the MGE patch). I'll only use the save if everyone else is gone.
Pggar Jan 14, 2002, 12:06 PM I downloaded it, and I don't see what's the big deal.
In the beggining of this game we've discussed about that. It was stabilished that anyone who tried to play ahead would be banned from the game and would take a week vacation from the forums.
I didn't open it yet (I don't have civ2 in the other comp), but since is such a big deal, I'll delete it.
Sorry. Now let's get this game going! :scan:
Alcibiaties of Athenae Jan 14, 2002, 12:40 PM OK, since this thread is far along, and we have a new president, I will open a new GIT. ;)
