I hate to add a message that isn't a solution but:

I try to run civ 3 gold, conquest (vr 1.22) on a p4 , 3.0 gz, with 500 mb ram and still can't get it to work, I've left messages on atari's support board for over a year about it and got no support. I am really disenchanted with civ 3 since I've played civ 1-3 and empire (it was my favorite game) and this is just one of about 20 issues that spoil my fun.

This issue freezes the system and trys to send MS an error report, 2 files called civ3conquest.exe.mdmp and appcompat.txt (a generic file)

So if anyone knows what to do to fix the multi-player issue I can use allot of help.

I know how it is when you have a question but no one has the answer. So sorry, can't help you. I have a crisis of my own. And PLEASE don't use this thread for your problems. Your post has been reported!
