ok, I have a problem. I don't have patience to play civ anymore :( I get bored even before Middle Ages. So I decided to do something different and I hope this thread will help me to keep going. Maybe you will be able to have some fun too :)

Ok so here we go
Civ - Incas
Landmass - surprise :p
Rivals - 9 preset
Difficulty - Emperor

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/StartingLocation.jpg

Well not the best starting position, eh?
It is seems we are strucked in some kind of Andes..
Oh well I can live with that, but that doesn't mean I have to doom my people from the very beginning and settle on spot. Oh course that gold is nice and I would like to hoard it, but there is always a chance that somekind of evil conquistadors will appear out of nowhere pillage my town, slay men, rape the women and take all the gold with them. And I definately don't want that to happen ;) it not that it is the only gold on map anyway, right?
So I am telling Moses to rally the tribe and lead his people to their destiny. He didn't figured anything better and said them to follow him to the promised land. I wish I knew where itis. Well I didn't promise him anything, but at least he made them moving so kudos to Moses. It is time to play nomads!

So they decided to split to improve their chances on finding promised land! smart move, but geez so much jungle and so much mountains.. it seems it will take some time till we settle. I can swear I saw some fish on what seems to be a coast to the west but those plains and desert tile diffinately doesn't look like promised land. Oh well lets explore it more

Well, well, well look what we have got here

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/river.jpg

Fish and even some wheat! But I don't see a river any close. And without irrigation it ain't that much. Definately better than mountains but still and those desert tiles.. yuck! I think I will move settler on the ice peak to the south next turn and will be able to get a better view on the volley. Meanwhile scout will head north along the coastline and worker will examine something that looks like a river and maybe will be able to find some grass. But heck that jungle is huge damn it.. almost like Amazon jungles..

Yeap definately not promised land

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/notpromisedland.jpg

some more fish, a grass tile but not a promised land.. And even if I settle there where am I going to expand.. to the mountain?

Meanwhile look what worker found to the east!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/grass.jpg

a river and some grass! well if I will have to chose between west and east I will chose a river and grass definately. Will have to send a worker down the river for some more exploration. Meanwhile scout is heading to the north. I hope for some contacts overthere

Before heading with settler to the east to the river I decided to make one more step to the south to make sure I am not making a mistake

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/notpromisedland2.jpg

Now I am even more assured not to settle here, yes there is one more wheat on plain, but even more desert and no perspective to expand whatsover. If only I would head with settler to the east in the begining instead of worker I would probably already settled by that river. Meanwhile scout still haven't found anything intresting to the north only more sea to the west and more mountains to the east. Those damn mountains.. they are huge!

Wow that's a really suck-ass starting position. Best of luck...it will be very impressive if you manage to keep up with the AIs with that kind of delay.

Wow look what we have found

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/lake.jpg

What a beautiful mountain lake.. and how completely useless.. Not only you can't irrigate from it, but you can't even settle near it! We will call it Titikaka on this ocasion. Meanwhile worker found second luxury this time gems and also in jungle.. that jungle really starts to annoy me. Oh and we should really avoid that vulcano to the south. Nothing intresting with scout again

I was about to ask the same thing

Bingo yes that is a very big world map :)

May 15, 2005, 04:41 AM
Oh dear that's not good...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/jungles.jpg

It seems that a river volley where I wanted to settle is surrounded by jungle and out of other notable things has only one bonus grasland tile and gems in jungle. It is very small too and there is enough place only for one city.

Meanwhile I decided that if I dont want to fall behind AI even more I have to find a 4 turn settler factory location. Keeping in mind that it is Inca and they are agricultaral it is only takes a river and one bunus food resource on grass (cattle or wheat) to make one. So that is what I will consider a promised land. May be I will have more luck down the river to the south and that is where I am heading now.

Meanwhile scout finally found something worthvile..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/scout.jpg

silks in forest!! One tile of forest finally for a change! and that green to the north looks somewhat promising too but it is already too far away to go with my settler there. So to the south we go. Deeper to the continent! :)

Man....you better get a city down fast or the AIs are gonna rape the poo outta you.

Damn it

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/morejungles.jpg

We found some more grass to the south east but even more jungles. And our river it is gone! We finally found the place where it is starting it is way. The desperate Incan people stoned Moses on this ocasion and now I need to punish them and find a new prophet damn it. Anyway it is seems the further we are going to the south east the more clear land without jungle we find, so I still have some hopes to find my 4 turn settler factory location. So we are going to call this river Ucayali and explore that clearence to south of this new grass volley which from now will be called the Mosesdale.

Meanwhile this how looks the known world..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/knownworld.jpg

Not a very nice view huh? As you see the scout has found a somewhat pretty bay to the north with some grass, whales, fish, bananas and silks in the forest, but it is still very small and ain't that much. I wonder who could have been stupid enough to biuld a civilization there anyway?

Well if I am going to lay it here they will rape it anyway so what is the point ? :)

Great news! I have found a new prophet! It is the brother of the Moses - Aaron. However there are some bad news too he is not as smart as Moses and led my people to the deepest jungles... here take a look

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/river2.jpg

However on the good side my worker has found a river once again! So next turn my settler is heading there ASAP.

Oh and this is how I decided to show the people my wrath! So that the bastards would never stone my prophets anymore!

Doh.. what a joke.. MARSH!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/marsh.jpg

At first it was mountains, then it were jungles and now it is marsh! And there is no bonus food resources near the river too :( It is already 3450 BC and I am wondering around for 11 turns searching for the promised land, which I were supposed to promise, but all I found is some freaking volleys surrounded by jungles and now marsh! oh well I already wondered long enough so I can wonder some more I guess and will head down the river to the south, since I really hate jungle and really want my 4 turn settler factory.

Meanwhile scout has found another volcano

WooHoo! we did it we found a promised land! :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/4turnsettlerfactory.jpg

The decision to head with worker to the hill has proved to be a right one. And from that hill we spoted a cattle 3 bonus grasslands and a river! just what we need for a 4 turn settler factory. Of course in my vision of a promised land there were not supposed to be all that jungle, to hell with that jungle it is not that I going to work it anyway. The marsh as you can see fortunately proved to be a small one too. Aw too bad Moses can't see it now. We are heading to that river right away.

Meanwhile scout has found another luxury - spice. But the clearence along the coastline unfortunately has ended and he can't use his speed in the all that jungle

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/spice.jpg

So what do we have.. a river, a catlle on the river, 4 bonus grassland tiles, one tile of plains one tile of forest and more jungles than I would like. Now we need to decide where to settle. Since I want to settle on the river near cattle and not to waste any bonus grassland tiles that lives only two options: either settle on the forest or on the jungle and since forest is so rare overhere and I don't want to waste it that leaves only one option really the jungle tile that is marked S. The worker is ordered to irrigate cattle ASAP

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/settling.jpg

Meanwhile our fearless scout has finally crossed the jungles and has found something strange

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/peninsula.jpg

First of all a river, that we called Orinoko, not plagued by jungles (really strange :) ) that is heading either to the sea or to the very big lake and some kind of peninsula probably, to the west. We need to climb to those hills near by next and maybe then we will find out what it really is...

So in the year 3000 BC the people of Inca has finally reached their promised land and decided to abandon their nomad ways by biulding great civilization that will survive any trial in the future. The first city - Cuzco - were founded on the shores of the peaceful river that were called Paraguay somewhere deep down in the continent. The prophet Aaron said that he can finally go to rest and died. But I do not a prophet anymore anyway. I need a ruler for my brand new civilization and it is going to be a ruthless warlord Montezuma

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/cuzco.jpg

It were calculated that thanks to the irrigation of cattle that will be completed next turn the city will grow actually in 4 turns not 5 and that it will be more beneficial to biuld some wariors for MP and defense than to biuld a granary from the very begining. It were also calculated that the first unit of wariors will be completed in 4 turns too, thanks to the forest near by that will add two more shields at the stage when city will grow. It were also decided to research the secrets of ceremonial burial as fast as we can.
I am 20 turns behind AI so wish me luck and maybe I will be able to catch up. It seems that we are on the very big world and so I hope the AI is not very close.

here is a map of oikumena (known world) with S marking start location

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/knownworld2.jpg

and

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/knownworld3.jpg

As you see I am somewhere very deep in the continent and that peninsula to the north is probably not even really a peninsula but a very thin way to somewhere else, but where ? :) The scout is going to explore some more..

He wont get attacked. He would be the only Civ in SA, and I believe the only real competition would be perhaps the Aztec or Maya, or Iroquios and Americans

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Blackguard/vulcano3.jpg

And anyway I don't want just to survive in this game I want to win it :D Oh by the way i changed my initial plan and biuld a worker instead. I am going to biuld a warior in next 4 turns. Ceremonial Burial in 23.
