Hello people...

Seeing civ4's screenshots.. I am afraid it will be very difficult to make units for scenarios and stuff in civ4. They are all 3d and stuff... No cut and paste anymore I guess.... And even the terrain is animated..

What do you think of this?

You could mod the game back to 2D and then add units!! It won't surprise if someones mods the game back to as close as possible to a Civ3 view! Assuming the game is as moddable as is being claimed. I think the 3D view is cool, but adds little to gameplay. OK, so I see an operating windmill, I know the tile is being worked? They couldn't do that with a 2D icon? Big deal, dropping to the city screen never bothered me. Every improvement you make is supposed to show on the main map so that must mean building a temple may take up a tile. Does that mean the tile can't be worked? With only 21 tiles available that means you can't build everything in every city, which I think is supposed to be one of the features of Civ4.

Maybe they have it so if you have a bank, that replaces whatever tile graphic was being used for the marketplace, and then teh stock market eventually replaces the bank on teh main map.

I thought that it was the Wonders that would appear on the main map.

If people can make new weapons and static objects for games like Half-Life or Battlefield 1942, it can done for Civ 4 as well. Obviously it will be harder than it has been with previous civs, but not impossible.
