I uninstalled civgold a few months ago... well atleast I think i did. The icon and the program folder was gone, the the data never went away. I kept trying to uninstall, but the game never went away. So i just forgot about it and let it exist on my computer.... well it's been awhile and I want to play it again, but i can't install it or uninstall the game!!!

Can anyone help me??

I cant delete the data because it says the files are read-only. Someone help me! :eek:

K, this is what i did.

I used " civilization " as my word for searching my computer... it brought up the CIVGOLD icon... i right-clicked and pressed delete, but it says " Cannot deletes Civilization3X: Files on this CD-ROM are read-only. You cannot copy or move files over to this CD-ROM drive. "

Has anyone else expierenced this? Can anyone help?

Sounds like you need to go into regedit and clean it out. Good luck.

Tried that... didn't work, I still can't install it, but i can uninstall it a million times, though

Something wierd is happening.... I deleted those CIV files, but when i click on the install button, the uninstall window pops up! This is getting on my nerves. I just want to play the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you have the Installshield Installation Folder still there. Check this thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=109523) for that problem.

Well, my computer started acting screwy this morning and i was forced to do a complete system recovery.... that basically fixed my problem lol. But thanks for all yof you that helped me! I can play it now! :mischief:
