Hello,im new to these forums and need your help.I have just bought the game Civ III about two weeks ago.It is real good,but when i play Scenarios,specifically Ancient Mediterranean,When i meet a new Civ and try to contact them,it says Error 404 not found.Can you guys help me out with this,do i need a patch?

You could try patching it. That might work.

Load the game, and when you get to the menu screen, look at the lower left corner. If it doesn't say 1.29, then you need to patch. I'm assuming you're playing Civ3 (a.k.a 'Vanilla') and not Play The World, Civ3:Conquests, Civ3:Gold, or Civ3:complete. If you're playing PTW the final version should be 1.27. If you're playing Conquests, the final version is 1.22. If you're playing Gold or Complete, you should be fully patched.

Also, make sure that you're playng the right scenario for the right version. Rise And Rule, for example, is strictly for Conquests. I'm not familiar with the Ancient Med. mod, so it could very well only be for one of the XPs. Best to ask in that thread if that's the case.

Sorry it was Ancient Europe that i was playing,its just that the civs werent in the game,i think thats why ill try it though...Also i have gold ver

Dammit it still isnt working,its really pissing me off right now.It has to do with the other cultures peoples pictures im thinking.

I don't think civ gives Error 404's, the Internet gives 404's. If you tell the exact problem maybe we can help you. Civ gives very good error reports ;)
